I know this post is about the revolver but I just love these two planes. I have four flights on the Gee Bee, and about 6 on the Staggerwing.

Gee if you can fly the GEE-BEE and the Beach you can very easily fly the Revolver. the Rev would feel like a trainer plane compared to those 2.

Nice lineup Rowdog, My brother has the GeeBee too but he has wussed out of flying it more times than I can count, Definitely intimidates him. That's for sure. I just finished my Rev. Had it for a year now and already have another in line so I had to get this one done before I go on to the next. and all I have left is to mount my battery. When you guys say slightly tail heavy, Where do you balance it too? the rear of the recommended CG or slightly beyond that. A measurement would be good if you know it off hand.

Yeah that is why I got it. I can relax when I am flying the revolver. The staggerwing is easy to fly but it is still stressful knowing how much money you have flying around in the air, and the geebee flies great but the landing suck [:@]. So my wife let me get the revolver because she wanted me to have a everyday flier .

Dauntae the recommended cg is 4-5/16 I have mine back about 2/16 from that, and it flies and lands great.

OK Gents,

Finally here is some video. It is hard to get any good shots of maneuvers and such as this thing just goes by too fast and gets too far out for the camera. I’m not really good at flying the Revolver “Slow.†Most of the time the throttle is jammed in the forward position while waiting the wings to rip off. I’ve only been out a few times this year with the new plane but so far I like this set up much better than the other combos I’ve tried. It’s been a long winter here in Michigan and getting out and flying today I forgot how much I missed this plane and how much it me and it love speed.

Anyone tried flying the revolver with a TT 61 I have a GP 61 sitting around I think it would make a good match on paper its supposed to make more power than a 55ax. And
I may not have to put my RX pack in the cowl due to the extra weight.I have a 46 ax lying around as well, but i like to go fast

Dieselman, I have an OS 61 in mine and it works well. I fly at a higher altitude too, but it works well. I mounted the RX pack under the tray behind the servos and it balanced perfect. I also added a pitts muffler as well.

NICE !!!! but due to not needing tank pressure, I would just not be able to resist removing that muffler, then she really would sound like a '4 banger'

Gonna go finish watching now.

I know there has been discussion about not pulling up hard in dives and whatever back a ways in this thread. I'm not so sure I believe the plane has a weakness in that area anymore. If it can handle 160mph dives, then I think it's ok!

Yes, it is insane. And insane doesn't even do it justice. You should see that thing in real life, the vertical is simply jaw dropping.

HOW ABOUT THE LANDING SPEED !!!!!!!!!!! she comes in HOT, good pilot. After flying other planes for 6 weeks,I really struggle to bring my rev in smoothly.

No doubt that thing lands fast as hell. I'd be installing a drag-chute or something!

RCFAN: Were you the one posting about this plane a few months ago and were getting some doubting critics? They're all cleared up now!!!

Are you saying that this plane has not been reinforced in any way?

Wing,

Move the CG back about 1/2" without adding weight. Someone suggested this about 3 mos ago. It works! Seems a little tail heavy makes this bird behave on landings.

This is a waste of time with high wing loadings, you just have to land hot if you have a big donk in there. mine is about 10oz over weight, this electric beast is quite a bit heaver, she would drop a wing before you could say "has anyone got a bag !

The only modification he has done to his plane is he built up the landing gear area after he cleared the gear off - no gear problems since then. Other than that, she's all stock and very fast!

159!!! Man that is cooking....

That definitely sets the bar.... Cav, have you got a radar gun on that Jett .90? I bet you have to be close... I hear ya about the muffler removal, too, but even if I take my muffler off and hand launched the plane without landing gear or whatever - I'm not going to go as fast as you guys. "WOW!" I guess I hit a point with this plane where I humbly have to say, I've done all I can do with this ARF and getting more speed out of this plane with my setup would be like getting water out of a rock. In fact I've switched to the less expensive %20 nitro vs. %30 after consuming 2 gallons in a few day period!

Anyhow, Nice job on the Super Electric Video... Just Amazing!!!
