Have not yet decided on which main gear I would choose as their are many on the markets.
This new Rev 70 project won't be started for a few weeks, thus I will be doing some further searching / research on what I want to install in this model.

Had to sand the wing tube itself.
Others have suggested just waxing it. I have not ever tried just the waxing option, but on my next Rev 70 if I have wing tube issues, I will opt for the waxing first.

After a season with the Revolver, I decided that the Magnum 70 wasn't enough power. I am upgrading to the OS 55. I was hoping that someone could post the pictures of the cowl (on the plane) so I could see where to cut. I already messed one up (cowl was upside down.) Also, I am breaking in the engine on the plane, I know not to do that with the cowl on. Can I use the Pitts Muffler or should I use the standard. Also, did you guys follow the instructions for the break in or something else, the method seems odd.

But as far as breaking in procedures / instructions, I have never followed any. I assemble a new plane / engine and take it out and fly it. I have always broken in my engines on the planes, in flight and have never used an engine stand. I might want to add that I have never had a real engine problem and still have good running engines dating back many years.

Got a revolver 59 for Christmas from wife, i am going to be putting a evolution. 46 on it. I have 3 evolution. 46's and all have been problem free from day one. I do have a question about the manual states you need coreless servo's with minimum torque of 50oz. Seems a lil too much. I am going to be using hitec 425bb on all surfaces with a 1500mah 4.8 battery. For the ones you all have built does that sound sufficient or should i go with a 6volt battery?

Tomorrow morning I'm going to maiden my new (-ly rebuilt) Rev 59. I have an OS 91 4s inside (older engine, but runs great). Balanced laterally, CG is a bit back of recommended. Wind tomorrow is 8mph, right down the runway, at 7am - perfect conditions for the 59. This will be my forth or fifth Rev 59. And I am NOT crashing THIS one. (...Your Honor...) Will post pics tomorrow.
spd101 - congrats on your new Revolver. If this is your first, when the time comes, just take off gradually and land with some speed, till you get the hang of it. Come in too slow and it can stall, quickly. Enjoy the build!

rowdog - thanks for asking - it flies great! Though I forgot how twitchy this plane can be - wo! Took me the entire first flying session to get my Rev59 sea-legs back. And also needed to add some expo. After the expo it bahaved more rationally. After the second flying session (last weekend) there was still a fuel leak, but I think it was cause I did not hoseoff the overflow nipple on the bottom (this is an older OS 91 4s.). I've since done that and so am looking forward to testing \ flying this bird again tomorrow. And I set the CG back 1/2 inch from recommended - actually came in pretty tame.

Didn't know where to ask this so I though I might try here.
Which pitts muffler do I want for the 55ax:
4046 (made for the 46 but according to tower does the 55 as well)
4055 (made specifically for 55)
I know one of them causes issues so I though I could see on here since many people use the 55ax on their revolver as I am.

I know this is an OLD thread, but I just happened to stumble across this post a few weeks ago and decided I needed one of these. It is a great looking plane. I do have one question though. Im using the 55AX with a pitts muffler and a 2500 mah 6v nimh battery. With battery mounted in the location on the firewall just behind the engine, my cg is quite nose heavy. Using a Great Planes cg machine, Im at 92 mm. I also tried a 4.8v battery in the same location and it helped a bit, got me to 101 mm. Id be happy to get somewhere between 110-115. I just found it odd that mine is so nose heavy when I see many others have put larger engines in and still had the battery up front and balanced out fine. Has anyone had to mount their battery under the elevator and rudder servos running the 55? Moving it there is fine, its just a lot of extra hassle if I need to get to it.

I'm not completely familiar with the Revolver, but moving the battery to that location from the firewall doesn't seem out of line. Do it and be happy you're not adding weight. The most important thing is to get your airplane balanced. Check and re check is what I always do. Don't forget lateral balance as well.

I've assembled a few Rev 59's and never had the battery that far forward. Usually it's close to \ on \ behind the aft servo tray. To balance out my latest Rev 59's that have larger engines (an OS91 2s and an OS91 4s) I created a platform aft of the servo platform and tie-wrapped the battery to that. This plane is twitchy enough - I would NOT want to fly it with the CG out of whack.

Thanks for the replies. And yes, I totally agree the cg must be right. I was just taken by surprise by how far off mine was with the battery in the forward location after reading through this thread. Seems most people running a 55 put their battery in the forward location and they balanced dead on without having to move anything. Unfortunately I took that for granted and had all my wiring tidied up before I checked it. Wont make that mistake again. And yes, Im glad I will be able to get it balanced just moving the battery. I really dont like to add weight. I will also balance it laterally as well.

420 cc fuel tank needed
The fuel tank in my 60 size revolver has finally split down the seam, if anybody that built this plane as an electric, and still has the original tank (420cc) I would be excited to purchase!

Hi Guys,
Look I have a Revolver with a 70 F/S in it cg is 110 mm but every time I come in to land & taxi back the bloody thing tips over ? has anyone else had this experience if so what did they do to fix the plane tipping on its nose?
I thought about revising the undercarriage so the main wheels are ahead of the leading edge, at the moment they seem to be along way back from the leading edge.
I look forward to anyone comments on how or if they have had the same problem.

Can anybody help me locate another canopy for my GP Revolver 46 - 55 model Red White With a bit of Black & silver pin striping. Mind flew off & when the canopy got to the ground it got badly damaged. So perhaps somebody out there that has crashed one of these models & the canopy is in good condition would they want to part with it.
