RE: New Great Planes Revolver
Microdon:
Like I said, had about 15 landings. Some very rough due to pilot error, cross wind & 20 mph wind. No problems..yet!
Will keep you posted!

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
Looking to buy on one these with the .55ax.
This will be my second airplane. I'm really taking to the trainers easily. My only concern about this thing is that it seems like it might be hard to track in the sky. I also want a size .46 sport plane that will not have to fly blazing fast all the time. Seems like every video of these planes are people flying the over 130mph and over stressing them.
Any suggestions other than this plane. Thanks guys.

The small Rev can be a hot little rocket on landings and takes some time to get used to. Just my .02 cents. I am sure some other guys will chime in and comment.

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
For sure, the small Revolver is not for beginners. I have a .60 in mine & even after 20 years of flying, it can be a handful. I ripped the gear attachment out so many times on landing. After many repairs, I bought a new fuse. Cannot believe the difference Great Planes made in the modification. Have had at least a dozen landings with no problems. Some were in windy cross winds. If you do decide to buy the 59", make sure the fuse has the stronger lg attachment.
Good luck

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
I have wrecked mine too many times to fix now. It is just the landing gear that is the problem with mine, they keep ripping out. If anyone would like to buy parts, just tell me, the wings and almost everything else are/is in good condition. The fuselage only has a hole in it from the landing gear coming out.

m1morrow;
I have the 59" Revolver with a OS 55AX engine. I have been in this hobby for over 25 years and this plane turn me on my ear!!! It took me some time just to learn how to land this bird and don't have to do the " walk of shame ", ( that's when the plane run of the end of the runway in to the tail grass!! ) I can tell you that this airplane would not be a good move to make as your second plane. If you want a good second plane in the 46 size engine, than look at the Tower Hobbies Kaos 40 ARF. This would make a good second plane. The 59" Revolver is a sweet plane aand a joy to fly, but, it will bite you!!! Now if you want to spend the money and buy the 59" Revolver, please get help with it. Have someone have flown the 59" Revolver, put you on the buddy box and see if you can handle this bird!!! We want you to be happy with this bird and love it just like we all do!!!
Just like always, this is just my 2 cents!!!

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
Thanks for all the help guys,
Sounds like its a real handful also sounds like you all like it allot. Yes I'll definitely get some help on a biddy box if I do buy it. I don't want to do a auger.auger4 arrival.
I'll see If anyone has one at my field.
It would nice to see one in action myself and watch how hot it comes in. So at least I can make a educated stupid decision in stead of a uninformed stupid decision.
Thanks

N495:
Suggest you replace the fuse for $65 if all the other parts are in good shape. Did mine..flys great! Addicted now!
Morrow:
Yes, the new fuse IS that great! The gear attachment is so much better.
Good luck!

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
If anyone needs a right wing panel for the larger Revolver. The right one only. The left one is trashed. $10.00 + shipping. It has a removeable FUTABA decal.

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
We do not have fly ins. We are open 7 days a week & fly every day. Not much flying on weekends as there is a no fly zone due to a Flea Market in the area. Still, 5 days is enough. Guests welcome every day. No charge!

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
Those of you flying with a .46 size engine, what prop are you using? I have a O.S. .46FX engine on my revolver and Iv'e flown it with a APC 11x5 and a Master Airscrew 11x7 but didn't think much of the performance with either.
