Outacontrol41,
I think you would make that up in fuel costs for the difference between gas/oil vs. glow fuel pretty darn quick. I just like glow engines for smaller planes and save the gas for Giants. Anything over 90" and 18 lbs. I go gas.
This is just my way though,

I just cut off the cheeks for easy mounting. Put in a couple spacers for clearance from firewall. The 75 bucks is pretty cheap when you consider the performance gains. AWESOME.

Cut off the cheeks?
I wouldn't do that to such an awesome looking plane. It would ruin the whole thing. I would definitely go glow if I had to go to that extreme. Raptor 8 let me see a picture of your plane with the G 26 and the cheeks cut off so I can see how it looks.
Thanks,
Gibbs

I agree....send some pics please. NCIS, yea it's a pretty plane,,, but they designed the beauty part for the wings and the tail (stripes = flashy and bright) but up front is the business end of the matter........a matter of function up there.....functional POWER! It's not a true scale plane so I say anything goes! Hassle free gas power, I think for a plane this size gas could be just fine.

I want to see those pics too. I've had zero experience with gas motors. Does that mean you can go down to the local gas station and fill up a gallon gas jug for your plane? If so what kind of octane do you use? They have the 100% octane racing fuel at a few local gas stations here, could you put that in your plane?

Me and two other guys have twist 40's as well, this thing beats them is speed, climb rate, and take off distance. AWESOME. The 40's all have saito 82's on them and we are all running 30% cool power throu them, and this little gasser flies circles around them. And don't forget this is couple of tanks throu it from new.

snacker,
I decided to have the T-Pin inside so all you see is the hole I stick the dowel through. I also reversed my throttle arm so it would work.

You got any pics of the T-pin and dowel setup? I'd like to see what your talking about if possible.
Thanks,

snacker,
I'll do my best to get clear pictures that you can make out so you can see what I've done. A couple are blurry but you can still make out the hole in the Tru Turn Decal and the T-Pin in the high speed adjustment screw. The last one with the dowel inserted in the hole and on the T-Pin should make you able to see what I've done. I use this method mostly on all my cowled planes.

Decal,
I decided to have Callie Graphics make me 4 decals for my Twist 150. Small ones for the sides of the fuselage and big ones for the top of the wings. I think she will make the plane more pleasant to the eye. What do you think? Even the colors match red, white, and blue.

outacont41,
I just ordered them from Callie and the four decals were only $16.00 including shipping. Those knockers are worth every cent.

NCIS,
Thanks for the pics. I did just about the same thing only I used about two inches of fuel tubing (I'm not sure what size), dipped it in alcohol and put it around the adjustment nice and tight. I had to do it before I installed the engine of course. It stays in there permanently and I have the same hole drilled in mine. I just turn the last inch of tubing for adjustments.
As for the decal, I like I like...uh huh uh huh.[sm=tongue_smile.gif].

The muffler is sort of, well, uh...big. And looks kinda heavy. I wonder how this same engine would look fitted with a G26 header from B&B Specialties? $34.95 and very small and narrow. That muffler just looks like it takes a lot of space and let's not forget...[&o] $75.
BTW....I wonder how this plane would do with an APC 16x4W prop for 3D? Probably not have to change the landing gear??
Otherwise, I love the look of this setup....gettin' one soon.

RE: Twist 3D 150 ARF
That's insane raptor. I thought my 180 was a totally flyable engine that just had a plane attached to keep it out of orbit. That's outrageous and is it a V-6 or V-8? Also regular, plus or premiem fuel? LOL

raptor8,
Incredible, just incredible!!! I can't believe the verticle your going to get with that monster at the nose. You have taken the cake with an over powered airplane. I hope you enjoy that racing plane. I have to admit it looks OK with the cheeks cut off.

raptor8,
Is that the largest diameter prop you can use on that engine? I have an 18x4 Wide APC on my Saito 150 and I would think you could go larger with a little less pitch which as you know will even give it more pulling power.
