Homemade skis Check these Out !
Whats up Guys. I thought I would show you my ski I made there pretty cool[8D] I made the front ski out of 3/32 ply my front ski is about 12" long and the back two are around 14" long The back two are made from 3/32 bass wood I took a glass and rounded the edges and cut about halfway through the wood with a razor knife every 1/4 " I made 4 cuts ( just the front ) when you cut half way through it allows you to bend them up without breaking it then I took regular car bondo (easy sand lite) and filled it in real smooth then sanded and painted heres some pics! Have a good one ! Happy Landing!

Hey Gitterdun the ski's look cool. Seabee eh? I shoot smallbore rifle with a retired SeeBee. The most unappreciated, overlooked bunch in the military, Giterdone indeed!!

You went about this all wrong. Your supposed to move to a warmer climate, not make skis.
Very nice looking skis. I can't tell from the pics if you have some mechanism for holding the front to the ski up, such as a spring, rubber band or torque rod. You want to be sure that the skis won't flap nose down in flight or landing will be interesting. Let us know how they work!

I really think they will be ok they really dont weigh more than the wheel and tire. Maybe a little Seabees ! NMCB 4 Port Huneme ,Ca. Alpha Co. Heavy Equipment Operator EO3 Peoples Have a Good one ![8D] if you look at the back spring you will see that its stretched to make the front raise up .

The only concern I have is that the skiis could still point toe down. You don't have anything to prevent it and airflow getting on top of them could push them down. May not be a problem but....
If that happens it's be like giving full down elevator.
