Thought you guys would like to know this. Yesterday my wife had an operation that removed a 12 Cm tumor in her Colon. They also found that the cancer was in her lymph nodes. The Dr told me she has 3 to 6 months. I asked the Dr if she would have had a colonoscopy a year ago would that have made a difference. He said it would not have been as big, it would have made a big difference. She was due to get one, but put it off, because of all the anxiety we were both getting from all the phone hacking. There were times we couldn't call anybody. When ever we called, we would get some phony message. We found out when you picked up the phone, you would hear a click. when you dialed the number, you get the message. Most of the time it was number was disconnected. If you didn't hear a click the number worked. Usually you got the message when you dialed 2 times, on the third time the number went through. Of if I called on a android cell phone the call went right through. I know who did this and why. ABC News has the complete story. If none of the hacking would have happened, the cancer could have been removed, and she could have lived a lot longer. This whole issue all started with a lie, from a thief that was responcable for the illegal land sale at RC World.

I once did one of those quizzes which claimed to show how long you would live for. When asked whether I was an optimist, pessimist or normal, I answered "pessimist." When it came to totting up my score it claimed that I was already dead!

A little late in making a reply, bu[t....I recall that the first model I saw that was covered with Monokote was in about1979. I marveled at it, since I had not been active in modeling for years. It caused me to buy a .40 engine and a Trainaire .40 kit.
I forget the radio I bought to go with it. When I finished the model, I took it over to the flying field and a kind guy checked it out and flew it. A year later, and a move to Houston, Dave Thomasson took me to the NASA flying spot and taught me to fly. Barely. Several crashes and rebuilds followed. Then another trainer, with crashes and rebuilds. Still flyiing, still crashing, still rebuilding. But not as often. Hey, I'm 86 years old--cut me some slack.

Jimbrock2, welcome to the group! You've already got the idea, we support each other even though we're thousands of miles apart and will probably never meet each other. I'm one of the younger members of the group having turned sixty-nine on Saturday!
We all grew up when you had to build a model if you wanted to fly one and though some of us, including me, own ARTFs (Almost Ready To Fly. You guys take the T and chuck it into Boston harbour!) We all still enjoy building model aircraft.
If you're still crashing all the time at 86, have you considered a Vintage or Old Timer model?

Now now Pope! Australians and Englishmen are masters at the understated insult; Americans are too brash to master the art! All that Flyer meant in 4115 is that he hopes that the northern hemisphere Spring will arrive soon with its warmer (flying) weather. Having heard of the recent snow storms they've had in the USA I can imagine how he feels.
You may have noticed the white ewe in my photos. She was given to my friend Ruth as a sickly lamb which was not expected to survive. Ruth called her Dolly, she is now eleven years old and has recently given birth to two healthy lambs; the two all-black lambs in the picture. The rest of the sheep in Ruth's flock are a Dutch breed called Zwartbles distinguishable by their black or brown fleece, white stripe on the nose and 2-4 white feet. Zwartbles are considerably larger than most breeds, Ruth's ram for example, weighed 100 kilos before she had him slaughtered! I only weigh 80! He has been replaced by one of his smaller sons! Because the cross-bred lambs grow much bigger than their mother, they have to kneel down to take milk from Dolly's udder. It's quite funny to see! Ruth does not intend to put Dolly to the ram next year but to give her a well-deserved retirement.
LJE, I hope you get good news soon.

PS. I lived in Unley, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the late 1970s. I was having breakfast and listening to the local radio one winter's morning. The announcer crowing about the outside temperature.
It had fallen to freezing point! 0C or 32F!
