Quique and Dave Ribbe accidents at Joe Nall
#127
Another quick point to note here is , if you read Fred's post in it's entirety , he has Gavin's name right there as a Co signer to the letter he says he sent to Illona maine . He obviously wanted it to look as though Gavin was Co author of the incident account , having been supposedly Co witness to the crashes . And now we hear Gavin's crash wasn't even known to Fred till 5 days later ?
Again , Fred , Go buy Mr. Ribbe a new plane and be done with it ......

Not the plane that I lost, but I wanted to post an example of the quality and resurch we put into getting the paint and marking correct on the 352 tribut planes. Plus you have a face to put with the name.

LOL Dave, you were the first to put a smile on my face today. Thanks for the feed back on the Sweet and Lovely. The pilot of the orginal Sweet and Lovely passed shortly before this plane was finished as well. I will see what I can do about the hat.

This is how it started, last year the 352 FG didn't have enough living veterians left to justify the cost of flying in a full size P-51 being flown in to Huntsville AL, so we were asked to do a one time demo, but since we have attempted to delop it into a display team but with our pilots located all over the east cost it has been diffficult to put a flying desplay team together.

Finally the photo of the lost Mustang, this one wasn't as detailed as the others but my replacement for Slender Tender and Tall will be weathered and look like it just came back for kicking butt in Germany.

Sad to see the wrecked plane . I know some scoff at foam and want to take sides with the "Great Balsa VS Foam debate" , but your model perfectly illustrates something I've said for years ;
It matters not what the actual material of construction is , the real connection between a model and it's owner comes from the amount of time personalizing that model to be a "one of" creation . In a way , the guys who scratch build got it the easiest in that regard , they're starting from square one and can build in the originality from the ground up . When personalizing an ARF , you've gotta get creative with altering an already finished product , something maybe not quite as easy as building in the changes from the first stick of wood .
PS as to the weathered look , when your talking about a scale model of an actual aircraft that saw combat , heck yea I think reproducing the wear & tear makes for a more realistic representation of the modeled subject . Not too many planes were "showroom new" for very long once they rolled off the assembly line

I couldn't have said it better init4fun. I have kit built planes, balsa ARFS and foam, they all have there place in the hobby and I enjoy them all. Give a good pilot any of them and they can put on a show.

yes astro many people still fly glow, the performance of these dinosaurs is still very exciting, if you can master them. Even riding a horse is still a thrill to many. Old muscle cars and old P51's too. So go look down your nose at something else cause nitro is out of your class. LOL

yes I did consider you were kidding. By my view on this conflict that happened you might get that I'm not liking any class warfare between all different types of models and interests in the hobby. Sorry. I agree there are enough "jackholes" picking nits, that may be how this thing got started and how it is run

I am surprised that you are shocked that I have a different opinion. There are always different opinions. Your posts give the impression of a fair minded man. I ask you to review this topic from the beginning and see if you notice the rush to judgement against condor that was decided before more info came out. I see more statements to support what he said. All others are made up conclusions that he was the aggressor and should have flew his plane better. Condor does not have the skill level of a world champion
