I've found this site for anyone who wants to make custom navigation led lights and need to figure out what resistors to use.

Default RE: Links-Tips/Repairs/Mods CX-CX2

Got a few questions about the some of the popular mods

1 if I get ***xtreme*** extended shaft do I need their head or can I use the aluminum one from eflight?

2 if I get the ***xtreme*** Blade grip set will I need anything more, or will my aluminum eflight upper and lower rotor heads work?

3 will the motor heat sink ***eflight*** for the stock motors work for the Xtreme 180's? how much lighter (if any) are they from stock?

4 how much lighter is boomtown's C.F. boomkit than stock? is it more/less durable than xtreme's?

5 who's skid set is more durable boomtown or Xtreme? are either lighter than stock? if so (/not) what is the difference

6 is the 850 7.4v w/ 15c going to give me longer flight times? will I notice more power? are they heavier than stock?

7 does anyone sell the C.F flybar or do I have to make it?

sorry for the gambit but these are a few of the questions I just wasn't able to get an answer to using search

thanks in advance=)

edit's in ***xxxx**** sorry that I was vague before =)

Thats a lot of questions there
* 1. Who's extended shaft? You must read the fine print, most of the stores will tell you what you need to work with what. Not sure?
* 2. Yes, they should work just fine. You would also want to get the xtreme blades with them (both upper and lower)
* 3. Yes. the e-flite heat sink will fit on Xtreme motors, The motors are also about 2g's lighter then stock.
4. Don't know the exact weight but I think Boomtown's is the lightest and probably a little more durable (less parts then xtremes)
5. I think Boomtown gives a lifetime warrenty on their skids and claim them to be indistructiable.
6. Yes that battery will give you longer flight times and you will feel more power
7. No you have to make your own. I havn't seen anyone selling one yet. Check out the soloboss guide up on top, he tells you how to make one.

If you want more advise you should create this in a new thread. More people will see it and post more responces.

What about RADD'S SCHOOL OF ROTARY FLIGHT?

I think its a must for just getting your mind in gear even though its not strictly a coaxial tutorial

Green : I thought u got some indistructable skids ? You havent broke em have you ?

I posted that about 2 hours before I sent the order to Boomtown. Ya, the indestructable skids are a #1 mod iMO. That modlooks like it will help with vertical breaks in the legs b ut the horizontal lowers, particularily the fronts will still be vulnerable.
The xtreme ones may look neat but these ones have a 1 year warranty not to break and arent heavier than the stock skids whereas the Xtreme ones look to be a fair amount heavier. Plus when this xteme canopy craps out eventually I will be going back to the stock canopy, probably the marine one so these skids will suit it more I think. I wish they made the whole heli out of this plastic, if they did you wouldn't need replacemenet parts. [&:]

What happened to the heli-max.net domain? None of those links are working. Did I miss something, because some of those links look like they would be a great resource!

Thanks!
