Hi guys!

I'm still around too. Been flying my Caliber 30 and my Protos mostly of late. Just getting stick time. Too windy for the 450!
Hope all are doing well.

Too windy to fly this weekend too! I need to pratice as I'm thinking of flying at my first ever funfly this weekend and i don't want to embaress myself too badly!
The Saint Louis Whirleybirds are having their 27th anual funfly down at Buder Park in Valley Park Mo. this weekend 6/5 and 6/6.
I have gone to it the last couple of years but haven't flown at one yet.

I did get the mower deck rebuilt AND I did order a new EXI-450 Pro shaft tail. I also have flown my EDF-16 about 4 times now, it takes some getting used to but it's fun.

Not the ARF that was $59 is not $39.
CF frame and metal head. It's not the Pro head, it's the SEV2 style head.

With the simulator....I fly what I want when I want and it doesn't cost a dime when I crash. I like it cause it's fairly accurate to real life.

I got the Pheonix FS Pro v3. Some models dont act scale, most do, especially the Align T-Rex 450 Pro and some of the other areobatic heli's. Even the Blade CX2 acts real enough to be believable. The Pheonix is about as real as it gets in my experience.

Guys,
thanks for all that information on the EXI-450....I am trying to decide what parts i need like a brushless motor, servos,ESC etc
in order to order this one from HobbyKing: [link=http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__13079__HK450_CCPM_3D_Helicopter_Kit_Align_T_rex_ Compat_Ver_2_DE_Warehouse_.html]HK450 CCPM 3D Helicopter Kit [/link]

and assemble it.

But will you please help me;
I want to buy parts that are cheap but will be able to make the kit flyable!

In order to make the simulator more real, you need to link my pay pal account to the reset button. Each time you crash, it will send me $75. That is about as real as it gets. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys! Is anyone still here? I can't believe that it's been a year since I last posted here! Well I have been flying my bigger birds and my MCPX but now I am going to venture into FBL and I am going to dig out the EXI-450 and build it up FBL to get some experiance with the setup.
Anyone have any tips?
Thanks in advance,
Huey

Sounds like you've been busy. Seems EXI is now a dead brand and no longer carried by X-Heli. I have 3 flyable 450's (one is a scaler), and a crashed 500 I haven't repaired yet.
I think I've flown maybe twice since temps dropped below 40deg, a lot of wind this winter. Yep....I'm still around.

Yeah, the weather has shut me down also. I have been slowly rebuilding my Protos 500 that went in with a bad servo and have been wanting to make it FBL for a while now but have been too chicken to make the jump.
I have an Align FBL and a Turnigy one and another brand that I can't name right now that I've been wanting to try out. FBL works so good in the MCPX that I just have to see what it's like in a bigger heli!

Been thinking about FBL, haven't made the switch yet. I do have a 4 blade head and tail system that I've flown on one of the 450's, it's OK but I think it would be better with a FBL controller module. The 4 blade head and tail have a distinctive and utterly AWSOME sound and it's pretty FUN to fly even without a FBL controller. I have to bottom the expo out to fly it because on normal settings, it's just to sensitive.

I'm waiting on a guy to show up with a .90 NITRO heli he wants to dump. It's all there, has a scale body, and hasen't been crashed as far as I know. They just cant make it go higher than about 1ft off the ground and he just wants his money back....about $100. The sooner they get it here, the sooner he gets his money. I've been considering a nitro for a couple years but those things are expensive.

I also bought my first Harley almost 2 years ago, been BUSY with that. It's a 2001 sportster, and I made a custom bobber out of it. I sent all the painted parts to my brother in Dallas TX to be painted Dodge cherry red pearl coat. I should have the bike put back together by late April, it'll look like a show bike when I'm done.

The bike sounds really cool. Post a pic when its' done, please!
Nitro is no big deal you just have to learn how to tune them. I always enjoy flying mine but they usually sit because I don't want to take the time to haul out the support stuff.
I just got the head and blades to complete my 450 FBL and I am on the verge of changing the Protos over. If I don't get to fly soon (darn wind!) I'll probably get distracted again and the helis will sit some more.[:@]
