Hi guys,Just a question for you.Flying the habu today,had 3 successful flights,charged batteries etc.When flying for approx 3mins the motors cuts out and have to glide it back in.When you try and open the throttle again it sounds as though it is pulsing then stops?? Is the batteries not fully charged or is it a speed controller fault?Running a stock setup that comes with the bind an fly.E-flight battery and charger.

Sounds to me like you are not getting full charge on your battery. How many milliamps are you putting back into your battery?

Putting between 1.5 and 2 mili amps.

What size are your batteries? If flying wide open it sucks a good bit of juice fast, so that may be the issue if you're using batts in the 2100Mah size or smaller.

they are 2300 packs.havent had a problem till today.Possibly is caused by charger.Will try again tomorrow with another charger and see if that helps.

I think that is not enough for the Habu. The manufacturer suggests 3200 mah packs. I get a good 4-5 minutes of flight, mostly WOT out of them fully charged.

I agree that something is wrong and you may be flying with underpowered batteries, I fly pretty conservatively with the stock 3200 battery and I have power to spare when I land. Other guys at our club fly wide open and I have never seen them come in without power. Check out this video showing 2 Habu pilots flying head to head flying wide open. This is a video from over the weekend in which my battery failed: [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV8pLjnj52g]Battery Failure with Habu[/link] I discovered that a careless soldering accident damaged one of the cells of my batteries. I installed a Hobby King battery alarm on the plane to alert me when I drop to dangerously low levels. In this case it did not help me because the battery dropped below 12 volts in an instant in flight shutting down the motor. I should of thought of resetting the power by coming off the power and reapplying to see if I could get a splash of power but everything happened in an instant.

Sorry for the mix up guys,they are 3200milliamp,typing error on my part,sorry.Well tried it again today,no problems at all.Must have been a charge error,although charger said it was complete!Thanks for the input guys.

Omra, I have had the same thing happen to me and it was a charger error. Put it back on the charger and was ok. I do think though that that with the stock set-up you have to have strong Bats if they are 3S!!!

That is one reason why I always check the battery voltage before I stick it in the plane. I've never had a charger error, though I have had a few operator errors.

Just got my BNFHabu yesterday. Like others have posted here, I noticed that the gap between the wing saddle and fuselage was excessive. The foam cutout for the engine in the wing not a good fit, so I trimmed off some of the foam in that area and was able to get the gap to about 1/8" versus 3/16". I will fly it today or tommorrow and let everyone know how the maiden flight went. I have learned a lot of great info here and appreciate everyone sharing their experiences with the Habu.

The maiden flight today went very wellwith my stock BNF HABU , only needed a couple of clicks of aileron trim. I ended up putting 3 flights on it without any problems. Everyone at the field was very impressed, and 2 or 3 of the guys said they wanted to buy one. At 1/2 throttle, the engine sounds like a turbine. I was happy with the vertical performance, and thisbird doesawesome aileron rolls. Great job Parkzone!

Nobody knows what glue Parkzone uses to glue the servos in the Habu?

The reason I ask is that I'm over sensitive to most glues (even after curing) and this glue does not bother me so I would like it to use it for other projects.

In the youtube videos of nightflyyer (two y's) I have seen him refer to what looks like this material as "Electricians Glue" in some of his videos.

I have wondered the same, it has a latex like feel that can take the temperatures of the ESC and I would like to get some.

I searched online for "electricians glue" but I could not anything that looked like the same stuff. I did find lots of glues that provide conductivity and are used to secure large solder joints in harsh environments but we are not looking for conductivity.

I use the same wheels, I found that they provide extra speed and shorter runway lengths on take offs

Anyone know how to set up flaperons on an x9503 ( Same as the 9303) on the habu??? My habu came with an AR500 so it has a dual aileron port. I have my FM's set up on the 3 position flap switch on the left. Would like to set it up on the Elevator D/R switch, so I could just flick it and get flaperons for landing. I will be going through the manual, but thought someone might know right off the bat...

Skirack, do these MPI wheels come in varying sizes? I guess I will get them also. BTW I would like your assistance when its time for the maiden. I still have not built it as yet. Haven't really had the time.... and I know its a 20min job.... minus the retracts.

Well like an idiot i flew my Habu in some really bad winds. Just wanted to try the new eflite retracts I put in. Jet flies great in the wind, but landing was another thing. As I was coming in a nice big gust of a crosswind came in and flipped it right over. Broke the tail, wing etc ..Needless to say I am not going to fix and and gonna part it out. I'm just gonna buy a new one and dont feel like doing the retracts all over again..I have new MPI wheels and retracts for it if anyone is interested. I posted the ESC, MOTOR, FAN etc.. on RCG
