I read the previous posts about tail upgrade and checked the microheli but unfortunetly found nothing. Maybe i didnt search enough. Could you please send your favorite tail upgrade web link?
In battery issue your right. The esky one is only 20c and expensive. but one of my friends has a esky 1500mha with part no; ek1-0183 and wants to sell it at around 17-18$ its packed and new, but the problem is theres no sign of discharging rate on it. Do you know it?Is it a good deal at all?
I replaced the brushed motor with the esky 3100+esc pack with 9T pinion(please dont laugh at me). The head speed is not just OK, the heli spins CCW i reduced the pitch and moved the tail servo next to the gyro as far as i could. Should i change the pinion to 11T or just replace it with 3800 or 3900kv?(as you told me on another thread but I never heard:(). The guy who sold it to me said this is the best setup for starters and he fooled me.
I also have the questin in my mind should i use the xtreme 43 t belt pulley since im a beginner?or the stock one is just ok for me?

Another question: Would the HB CP2 stock blades fit and work good on HBK2?

Not if they're the same as the Blade CP/P- 255 mm blades don't work well on the King.

HI hamid_fireage,

I am using the esky 1500 lipos and they work fine for me although there are probably better batteries out there. Are you saying the head is spinning ccw? It should go cw looking from the top of the heli. Just reverse any two of the three wires going to the motor. I have never used the esky 3100 but I think it will do ok if you are just starting to hover.

I know for 2008 you can buy the king II with a 2.4ghz radio system.Thats the only difference I am aware of.

hi everyone. i have a question about my HBK1 and seeing how this thread is more updated than the original HBK's, i wanted to ask it here.

i'm using futaba 7CH remote. i have 2 1500mAh 12C batteries and with those it hovered fine on stock motor. once i accidentally switched to idle up when i was putting the remote on my car seat and didn't realize it and had no idea why the heli suddenly wanted to attack my car's interior. so i had to hold the blades still and unplug the battery while the heli was at full power. needless to say, this little exercise resulted in semi-burnt out ESC. the heli would spin up, but couldn't take off.

i then upgraded to esky 3800kv with 10t and esky 25A esc. i kept all the throttle and pitch curves the same as before and really nothing else has been changed. now, however, the heli refuses to stay in the air. it'll take off a few inches and then go back down and pretty much stay there at full UP on the stick. the longest it would hover is maybe 5 secs. it only takes off right after i use a fully charged batt, then it just stays down 10 secs later. the batteries are fully charged and balanced within +-.01V per cell. the ESC never got hot during initial testing. could it be that the battery doesn't have enough discharge current at 12C? has anyone flown on 12C batteries and 3800kv?

It certainly could be the batteries- how old are they? How many cycles? Brand new, the 3800 would be pushing their capacity, and if they're a little old..... If that's the issue, then the packs should be heating up after a fairly short time, 1 or 2 minutes.

Hey buddy,
The main blades are ok and spin cw, but the tail moves left to right when you are in hover and standing behind the heli. Not enough head speed i think. I never had this problem with stock motor.

Hey,
HB CP2 blades are 275mm same as king2 but slightly thinner (about 1mm i think), screw holes a bit smaller and should be shaved(i didnt do it yet).

I still have the question about stock belt pully: Is it good for beginners or should be changed with 43T?

We ran the stock pulleys BEFORE the 43T without much probs...just got to run 450 tail blades on the tail rotor.

43T is nice to have. Recently had to go back to stock (no spares after one popped gear and ate it) And I realize how much more control it gives you.

i only have about 3-4 runs on each battery. i'll try to run it for a lil bit to see how quickly they get hot.

another thing... if i get a couple of high discharge ones, i'll prolly go up to 1800, but even with 1500 i can barely get the canopy on and even then it stretches out the holes for the rubber mounts. how does everyone use their stock canopy with long length batteries?

IMO the 2400 15c is a little big for HBK2. I fly 2 2200 20c and 2 1500 15c's and like the performance of the 1500's better. THe 2200's seem to bog it down. Hobbycity dotcom has the 2200 20c for around $22. Search for ABF 2200mAh 11.1v 18-23C Lipoly on their site.

I'd get something better than the Esky 25a. I burned one out in about a month. You can get a better ESC for that kind of money.

Talk to Mike over @ ushobbysupply. He's a good guy with fast shipping and great prices.

As for those blades and motor, no idea.

how do you fit 2200mAh under the canopy? or does the battery tray in HBK2 let you push it back a little so that it doesn't get in the way?

I use a larger canopy to give me more room for the battery. I went with the $9.99 Pigeon 450 canopy and it fits great. I also either extend the battery tray to obtain a perfect CG or I make a slanted battery tray to mount the battery like most of the 450 sized heli's. Right now i am running a home made slanted tray that I hung off of an old feathering shaft. I do not have a picture of this specific mod...Pic. number 1 is how my tray looked a week or so after I bought the heli. Pic 2 is how it looked about 2 weeks ago. Now, instead of screws threaded into the frame, i drill all the way through the point where the screws are and insert a feathering shaft to mount a homemade tray. I will get some pics. of that mod when i can. I believe it to be a great improvement over the other fixes for CG. Balancing the heli with different sized batteries is easy as moving the battery up/down the tray.....Pic 3 how it looks now with 450 canopy, extended boom and 315mm blades.

You could squeeze a 20C under the hood (mod the canopy a touch), I've done it. With the HBKII...weight is a consideration, and the 20C's that are OK for a 400/450, will be a tad heavy for the HBKII. Strictly your call. If you're going to fly inverted or doo loops and rolls....I think the 20C might be too much weight. For the HBKII...Personally, I think the 1500mAh 15C's are the best, but that's my opinion....and everyone has an opinion.

Those 2200 20c (170g) from hobbycity i was talking about fit perfect, no canopy mods and gives perfect CG. The 1500 15c Esky I fly have t obe moved forward about an inch to get good CG.

Nothing to learn with the EXI-450. Other than a few minor differences...same as the HBKII but bigger. Whatever goes wrong with the HBKII will be nearly the same with the EXI-450. My MX-400 is getting REAL tired.....doing a lot of work on it. I get one problem solved, another pops up. Started with a bad servo and snowballed on me. Motor pinion, main drive gears, front belt drive pulley...getting it handed to me. Since it's a semi-scaler....working on it is HARDER.
