I was wondering if 1/8 fully threaded rod would work for elevator and rudder instead of solid rod?
Also, where do you buy the plastic bearings (look like hinges) that you use to attach the rod to the elevators?

Also has anyone done a fixed gear setup. If so, what did you use for main gear mounting blocks?

Someone here said there are no dumb questions. I'm testing that theory a bit.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

THreaded rod is not a good idea. Vibration and break it. I've seen some use them for servo connections. Your flying on borrowed time

Hey guys. Just a heads up if anyone is interested. I'll be putting my SU-27 up for sale here when I find the time. It's about 95% complete, installed fuel tank, engine mount, Spring Air retracts and the air kit, etc, but no struts or no electronics. Send a pm if you want all the details.

I have little time to finish this, and I think the planes going to be too fast for me to handle as well. I'd hate to wreck such a nice piece of equipment. Would love to finish it and have it on display, but I need the $.

Was wondering if you finshed up the Flanker project over the summer? How did things work out?

So i've finished up the Topflite Stinson Reliant, and winter is starting to set in. I think it's time to finish off the Flanker and get her ready for spring. Anyone have problems with the wing tubes shrinking after a couple months? If so anyone have idea's on a replacement tube? I've got 1 wing about completed, but the tube has shrunk in the wing and I had to pull it out, now I need a replacement.

Jim

Looks good.  I got both my fins glued on, now I'm working on getting some of the other bit-n-pieces sanded and shaped to put on.  Still have 1 wing to build.  Does anyone have a close up shot of the wing trailing edge?  I'm wondering if i did the sheeting correctly as the top sheet overlaps the bottom sheet by like 1 1/2 inches at the tip.  Is it supposed to be this way, with the bottom sheet sanded at a angle to meet the top and then the top just overlaps that much?

This is what I'm talking about. Is this correct? I've built several planes in my time, but this just seems flimsy to me. It this how its supposed to look prior to the missles?

Pedro,

You're doing a great job on your SU-27. I have an unstarted kit I bought about 1-2 years ago and this is making me want to build it this winter.

For these pieces I've had to do by hand, because I had no worth as least 2mm hole and not have needed 1.8 or less, with 2mm thread escaped me

This is the appearance of depth and direction transmissions

Made for the cover recess

And how could der otherwise secured with pins hinges interns

Well, now if it looks good on her little, leg still do not know what I'm going to put forward, because I wanted to put a drag as the leading turbine jets ....

Saludos

I'm trying to see if this is correct or not. Has anyone else who built this plane remember the trailing edge wing tip having the top sheeting overhang like this? Just seems kinda weak to me. I've lost my CD, and the instructions don't really show this area.
