hmmm
I have been thinking about that guy with the OS-65 DF motor in the Dago-
Great idea...
The Dago/Voodoo is on my wish-list of planes I NEED TO HAVE- and I have an OS-77DF motor...
I should get a "91" for my A-4 and put the OS-77 in a P-51
Fun to think about-
***DAVE***
When is the "El Mirage II"?
See below carnage from Sunday- :stupid:

Randy,
GREAT AIRPLANE!!
Have you noticed any faster similar mustangs with YS 110 power??
I ask because I got into a pissing match on that very subject (See
Speed Contest Wager!!!!!, and What engine will make my p-51 scream??
I was proposing an even more powerful 2 stroke than the OS 65 DF but was assured it wouldn't be as fast as the same 40 size WM mustang with a YS 110
The YS 110 advocates came up a little short when it came to putting up any money on any kind of equitable contest.
I notice you're running an 11X7or8. What kind of RPM on the ground and did you find through trial that a 10 or 10.5" prop diameter was insufficient?

Speed Freaks Wanted
Hideho all,
Well, I guess I need to register to be a Revver Bro....
Won a couple of nice items at our funfly last weekend, the first of which is the Laser Arrow.
After considering selling it in the swapshop, I perused this here forum and decided to keep it. (dammitallanyway, like I NEED another addiction, defect of charachter, err, I mean affliction.)
So after reading dam near every thread here in the Need for speed forum I whipped out an old mirror from the closet (faster than cleaning the kitchen table) and just for the hell of it started numbering the pieces of the kit. (Now there's a word you don't hear in my house, kit.)
Now as most of you know, I claim ARF's and have never enjoyed the whole build process. (The astute will see where I'm going with this in a minuet.)
As luck would have it this is my first laser cut experience, and wouldn't you know it some of those pieces popped right out there on the mirror, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Now all this is taking place on the kitchen table after dinner, and after a bit O TV watching my daughter and wife stop by to see what Pop is up to. My family, who has never seen a box O sticks before (yea, yea shaddup!) ask me if I'm building a puzzle and can they help.
So I sez, sure, you can cross off the pieces from the destructions as I punch them out of their holders here.
Now my wife, ever quick on the uptake sez, waitadamm minuet here, that's a plane!
My daughter, ever so quick to see an opportunity to not do the dishes sez, DUH Mom, with a wee bit of head bob that gets her lovingly smacked on the back of the head, points to the box with the plane pics on it.
Wife sez, "you have TWO shops, downstairs and in the backyard, and your going to make a mess on the kitchen table?"
Husband says in his best condescending manly voice, "no honey, I'm just going to fit a few parts and then take it out to the shop and put it away..." OK shewhomustbeobeyed sez, and with that goes off to "do her toenails" or some other such life threatening chore.
Wouldn't you know it, 12:30 AM rolls around and the Laser, she is all framed up, just awaiting the engine mount cut out and the LE sheeting left to do, mostly.
Seems I got this here new old OS 40 VRF & pipe sitting down in the shop with no home all lonely like. Talkn' to me sayin' "You ain't got the cahones to use me in any real go fast planes, you funfly dork" Yea, Yea you shaddup, too!
Herewith is proof that I be allowed membership to the demented, jaded and socially unfit Revver Brothers Gofast till I puke, hood or whatever y'all call yurself.
Insert #<here> if I qualify.
Thanks,
S-L-O-W M-O-T-I-O-N Mike

That picture, in my shop, is a box that I bought at the swapmeet, containing FLOATS!!
That ought to be a creed of the folks here in the gittyupgofast forum,
I will never, ever fly a Cub, and if I ever get caught flyin' one will mean immediate banishment from the Revverhood.
NO Flyin' Yellar Thangs!

Hello to all of my Brothers.........We are in the process of planning the second annual El Mirage Fun Fly & BBQ. I am open to any ideas you all might have. This will be a weekend overnight camp out with lots of fun and booze by the fire. LOL We had a good turn out last time with over 16 planes on the flight line, and with the help of Razor and Fly Boy Dave I am sure this will be a weekend to remember.......and yes Razor does fly better on Tequilla..... Feel free to e mail me if you have any questions at [email protected] Thanks Revver Brother #22 Tim

You are a friend of mine-
October right?
Hey Hawker- when is good for you? Also, what is that maneuver called "death-spin"? I like "Satans Crotch" if your still shopping for names-

It's funny now, 20 odd years later looking back. Then, we were glad the day was done when we got out of the Devil's Crotch!!

Holy crap!
That is where I came up with that name!
Those moguls are NASTY! I lived in Avon for awhile (Near Vail) as a "Ski-Technician" and I hit that on my snowboard- once
Could not remember if it was Devils Crotch or Satans Crotch-
Glad you got that reference- made my day....
So was it Satans or Devils?
Toughest terrain I have seen and I have seen a bunch!

Never did...We used to go up there for a week/10 days every year and do the Ski the Summit pass, Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Arapaho Basin. We had a ski in/ ski out condo right by the quad lift at Breckenridge and would take the shuttle bus to the other mountains.
It was closer for us to go to Taos for a weekend, stay at Red River and drive to Taos..
That was so long ago...I'd kill myself now! Last time I skied was '88 in Taos.

Flyboy Dave,
I just read the thread starter again and I realized I did not send a pic. of my speed plane with my aplication. I did apply for a rever brother hood membership # but never did get my number properly attached to my signature.
Again I admit, I did not send a pic. but every time I look at a digital camera I think of another plane that I could buy or a set of retracts, pipe, engine... you get the picture (no punn intended)
So can I get my number registered with out a picture?
I will do my best to get myself and another buddy or two from my field to attend the 2nd annual flyin at the devils crotch I mean El Mirage. I did not catch a date though.
Anyway let me know what you need from me. I know my number was somewhere in the #35-#37 range (not sure though)
reminder: I have a Weston UK Magnum as my speed plane qualifier, but also have a patriot in mid build with rocket assisted take off, just purchased a DC F-20 kit, Pica Duellist ready for paint and the rest are scale or sport planes.

I don't think you need a pic-
There is no date for the devils crotch (El MirageII) yet but we'll keep ya posted-
Rocket assisted Patriot- you gotta bring that with ya...

Hey #3-
We need to see some pics of that rocket propelled Patriot project
Oh yeah, If you have a Weston Magnum, you are quicker than anything I have including my D/F's
I meant to blow my last bonus on a Magnum but got a great deal on a Zen-50 so it'll have to wait-
Bring it all to the Devils Crotch fly-in!
Take it easy-
james
P.S. Here is my speed qualifier-
