There is no anyone of this pitts muffler be sent to distributor for testing in the world at this moment becauseit still in our schedule to make.Just have made two samples for testing in the world for ourself. As I know, Tommy told me that theValley View RC will be the first one distributer in USA to get it for testing when we have itmass production. Maybe the misunderstanding is making because of myconsideration what to make it carefullyto sure the qualityand performance are good atboth. We had announce thequality warrenty and performance gurantee to users as our promise. We have to make it very carefully to satisfy our customers.

What is the procedure to tune the MT 35? I've been tuning for 3 day's now without good results... No problem with high-end but don't get relaiable idle below 2500rpm. Sometimes the idle go up & down from 1600 - 3500rpm...
Can anyone help me?[:@]
First, take the carb off and see if you have the steel reeds, I'm sure you do, remove the rear crankcase cover and look at the reed stop. The reed stop is punched out of aluminum plate that originally had a thin plastic protective sheet stuck to it just like what you would see on an appliance display screen except it would be white and brown. Many of the reed stops did not have this protective plastic removed before assembly, it comes off and gets tangled in the reeds and causes very erratic running and the engine usually won't idle.

Regardless, take the opportunity to install the fiberglass reeds as shown above, you will be glad you did.
Henlo,
recieved your engine today, and will look at it for you in the next couple of days..

you do not havesteel reeds, nor any plastic inside, We make sure of that.
I am sure it is just settings or a carb linkage problem

Henlo
stripped and checked your motor - all fine - I will return your spark plug as is - do some reading on spark plug condition and what it tells you. the engine was running way too rich. pic of plug below
i replaced the plug and put it on the test stand today and ran it. checked timing and set needles - here is a video of it running.
www.youtube.com/watch

Enjoy it! they are nice powerful motors.
cheers

PlaneKrazee

sorry, that was a typo - I have edited the original post now. only a few of the very early ones we sold had steel reeds, and those who wanted have had fibreglass reeds upgrade already.

Back from three weeks in the islands and the MT-35 powered Ultra RC Giles is my priority number one.
Completed installing the fiberglass reeds and new WT805 carb and managed to get it fired up in the late evening before my early morning flight out. Full throttle reached 7230 rpm and it had a very fast idle but I didn't have time to fiddle with needle valves and linkage.

When I returned I mixed fresh 32:1 fuel with Stihl HP Ultra synthetic oil and regular gas, bumped the ignition timing up to 31deg BTDC, adjusted the throttle linkage and took the Giles to the field.
Started the engine, did a little needle valve adjusting and managed to get a maximum of 7380 rpm (expected more) with the Xoar 19-3DA prop and cleared the burble out of the mid range. There was no idle speed, I couldn't get the speed to go below 3200 rpm which meant there was no way to taxi the plane. I had no intention of going home again without flying this MT-35 so I started it on the runway and took off. It worked very well in flight and I used the ignition kill switch to make a landing. When I got home I found that the shorter throttle arm that I made to clear the WT805 carb's straight fuel nipple was causing linkage interference and the inability to reach idle position.

The detent choke with manual actuation on the WT805 carb is exactly what I needed and it works perfectly. The engine chokes well and is very easy to start.

dropped per Jody Haack. They will support any MT-35 that VVRC sold but not engines sold by MTUSA or others.

I have no idea. I purchased both of my MT-35 from Jody at Valley View. I've also purchased 2 CRRC Pro GF 26i v2 and a DLE-20 from them. I'm very pleased with the service and information from Jody et al.

Perhaps mtenginesusa.com would be a logical place to start looking.
Check this page http://www.mtenginesusa.com/products...at=Gas+Engines .

If you want to risk building up one from parts (MT35 Quick Built Kits), see this page, http://www.mtengines.net/QB35.htm .

Judging from how quiet this MT-35 thread has become one would think that the engine has disappeared from the scene. Or, it could be that everyone has learned to cope with the small but bothersome quality control problems and have gone on to enjoy flying with the MT-35. The latter applies to me.
A couple of days ago it was dark, heavily overcast and an uncomfortable 45 degrees when I took the MT-35 powered Giles 202 out to fly and it was very satisfying to deal with an engine that started easily and ran reliably throughout various aerobatic and 3D maneuvers.
Hmm, I think I'd buy another one if I got the urge to convert another glow model to gas.

I had been hesitant but I had previously purchased both MT-35s from Jody at Valley View RC. After a phone conversation last week with Jody, I am convinced that these were excellent engines and could be trusted to "haul the mail" .. Jody assured me that he was there if needed on engine servicing!

No yet but probably in a couple weeks as soon as Jody updates the reeds. I'm flying my CRRC Pro GF26i and DLE-20 right now, but I'm also ready to install the MT-35 pretty quick now that I have more confidence in the engine.
