RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Thanks for letting me know, I messaged him.
The battery life with my current setup is very low. Maybe 15 minutes. I thought I blew an ESC when the low voltage cutoff came on so early. The SCT is pulling like a mad man so I am not surprised. The ESC fan is on more often as well but the temperatures are always below 120F. I am going to run 88/24 in the future to calm it down.

First he invited me out. Cool. Then this: It's 10$ a day. I'm open every day after 11 am.
Its not about the ten bucks, its the tactics. If he wanted to advertise he should have advertised it. Bait and switch. This reduced my interest a lot. I will go out there and check it out but it better be a damn good time.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Here is an update on my truck.
I flipped the rear A-arms for a little more wheelbase and then I added aluminum front knuckles, RPM wide front bumper T4, and carbon fiber battery strap, servo mount and chassis brace from Platinum RC Products. I wanna order a carbon fiber front shock tower from Xtreme RC Racing too.
I'm running a Losi 4800kv sensorless brushless kit, Hitec 5955 servo, and JR XS3 radio with 2S and 3S lipo packs. This is a tough truck except for diff gears (might upgrade to ball diff) and the stock HPI ball studs for the turnbuckles. I upgraded them with DuBro captured rod ends. I'm also running titanium turnbuckles but 2 sets (HPI93485) are on backorder.
Anybody know of any durable CVD's for this truck? know of any good threaded aluminum shocks? I'm thinking about running either the Blitz aluminum shocks or the Proline Powerstrokes, any suggestions?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Ball diffs are WAY more sensitive, require maintenance (much more frequently than gear diffs) and will not easily handle brushless power. On 2s maybe yes but on 3s no way.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Thanks again for the gearing help last week. I finally installed the Reedy 3900KV brushless setup in my firestorm and I now have a new problem.
The shaft on the motor is a little to short and I am wondering if anyone has had this problem with any other motor. The only solution I can see is to either get a different motor or see if I can use a smaller spacer between the spur gear and the motor plate.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I can grab just a little bit of the shaft with the pinion set screw and It ran well until the pinion fell off.
Thanks!

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Butcher - Is this with the set screw side of the pinion towards the motor?
Ball diffs aren't that good on 3s like Al3 said, I ran two different ones and they were never right. They always slipped with 3s power. I run the ESE shocks and am thinking about getting the new prolines.
I ran the storm tonight with the same gearing 83/26 and the SCT but with road rage II tires. It was much more controllable but still much more powerful than the 4600 with the same tires and 88/19 gearing whcih is about the max for that motor under the same conditions. Temperatures shot up to 150 but I was hooking up well with hot tires and got to push the truck hard pretty hard. The pack life is down about 30% from the 4600 setup. ESC temps ran up to 125F. My CF took its first nick in the undertray tonight, its itme to change the plastic protector on it.
Red - buddy at the local track has emailed me a few times asking me to come out and I sent this response that has had no response from him so far:
It wasn't clear from the Kijiji ad that the track was a pay for service which isn't a big deal but it does change how the guys and I look at using the track. We were looking to hang out and expand our group of friends etc... but now we would be interested in paying for track time and being left to ourselves. I want to be clear and up front about that and if you don't like that I understand and will stay away.

Glad to help. Some of my motors are the same way and some pinions are too wide.
F150 I forgot to mention that the blitz ese CVDs and MIP has a set that has a rebuild kit.

I ran 3s on a Phoenix ST before a couple of years and the balls from the diffmelted and also destroyed the rest plastic gears inside the gearbox...They only perform well on touring cars but still require maintenance.Ball diffs aren't that good on 3s like Al3 said, I ran two different ones and they were never right. RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Having recently upgraded to 3S lipo, I now need a wheelie bar.
I have the T-Bone bumpers front and rear. Can I purchase just the T-Bone wheelie bar?
And what other non T-Bone wheelie bar options are available?
Thanks.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I found this wheelie bar the other day from Integy:
http://www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p...=8971&p_catid=
Not sure if it is any good but I have not found too many choices.
Another option on ebay, but they are not taking orders until 8/12:

Hope it helps.
