Namewasdallas- I got a cyber10 recently also, mine needs a new motor mount. its mangled. the hotbodies D4 diff gears will fit on it as will the axles but its a lil pricey. The center oneway for the D4 is a little short tho.

Rob or Red- Do you guys belt your street tires?

I think the 3s is a little taller then the 2s, I have a zippy 3s and I have no issue but the 2s sitts lower, I can always take a peice of foam and place it under the battery to raise it up tho.

My cyber 10b needs like $50 in new parts, rear drive cups are junk i can almost pop the axel right out, center drive cups have huge holes in them and the center axel is bent, along with the bearings by the slipper clutch and motor mount...

Can someone go on the speed caculator and tell me what a 4800kv motor geared 77-26 on 3s with lowprofile 2.2 road hawgs would run?

I'm a bit confused, these are your two new 2s nanotech batteries? Why is the C-rating different on them?

I havn't strapped my tires in the past and will do so in the future for high profile tires but not low profile like the road rage. I am going to 2.8 sized rims and probably will strap two of the four. If I don't like the strapping they will go on the front.

ORIGINAL: namewasdallas

Here's a picture of my two Nano-techs compaired to my Zippy 3s these are half as thich which says something like 120grams if i remmber right. Only issue is i really need to make a notch in the battery tray cause the wires come out the side and on a old battery i knocked off the negative on the balance charge plug.

I bought the lower C rating battery two weeks before I ordered the higher C rating battery money was a issue at the time had just the storm and venom charger and everything else.

So today I think I had to get close to 80mph at least 70mph, I had the 3s zippy 20c in geared 77-26 and it friggin moved I didn't think the battery got hot it was a little bit warm but nothing crazy and when I got home and took it out it had puffed up, I don't know much about Lipos so I thought it was going to explode or catch fire so i left it in the middle of my driveway for a hour and nothing happened. I'm affraid to charge it now.

lipos should naturally puff slightly when put under a heavy load. the problem begins when the puffing does not decrease as time passes. that means your pack is bad most likely.

Thanks for the link I'm pretty new to all the online R/C forums and such, But I just added it to my favorites and calculated my setup and it came out to 69mph. It feels faster but i guess not.

I Finished most of my track today in the garden I had to tear down the double and make it into a tripple I forgot my dirt tires when i went to my old mans so i couldnt test it out. I thought it was going to get washed away from the 14+ inches of rain we haveut gotten over the past 2 weeks but it held its ground. Everything else in upstate NY is flooded bridges getting washed away all sorts of bad crap

The speed program is always higher, if it said 69mph you will be around 60mph.

Wow I just was messing with the speed calculator and i put in a 36t pinion and my 77t spur and on 3s with my tires it came out to 98.8mph, So that would prolly put me at about 85-89mph. I may just have the worlds fastest firestorm, Im ordering a 36 pinion and some foam tires and using my buddys radar gun and going for a record now.

I'm going to borrow my friends Max Amps 3s 150c rating battery to get the job done over my zippy 3s, and this is all with the stock 4800kv motor

yeah we I deff will my buddy whos track I race at weekly is the guy that owns the 100mph Rustler setup and he's been itching to bring it to this road where we drag race its 2 mile straight away to a mile long hill as a slow down and there's nothing to hit on either side of the road for 30ft incase the car loses range or something in the tranny breaks and we lose are breaks it happened to my buddys rustler and you just coast it off to the side of the road.

It should be intresting to see whos faster for a a race but he deff will have the top end on 6s with 31/35 gearing and the 2200kv mamba monster combo.

I'll prolly need to add some weight to the front end or make my custom wheelie bar, which I'll start fabing tmrw.

Does anyone using the t-bone front bumper find it makes the front end go up easily at speed?

I come up with another weight savings idea for my Firestorm. This is a lexan spur gear cover from a HPI RS4 MT.

It took a little bit of trimming to fit but looks almost factory now and is definately alot lighter then stock.

Yea, great little trucks. Not alot of gearing options though and they have too much flex stock so really need the carbon fiber upper chassis brace to be solid. I used to really enjoy racing mine on dirt oval.

I deff like that idea of using that gear cover, I mostly like the fact that it is clear and I can look at my slipper spur and pinion instead of having to take off the entire cover cause the bottom screw is a PITA... I Also lost one of the thumb screws that holds the battery pack strap down and  couldnt find any at lowe's or homedepot or ace hardware. I Broke the wing on the back of the truck today, bought a 1x1ft peice of plastic and cut out the same size peice as the wing then took a lighter and heated it up to where it was soft and bent it over a straight edge into a new wing. Just need to find a small drill bit to make the mounting hole and to shave the edges there a lil rough. I got enough plastic to make about 10 more and it was only $1.99

I finished my track today and ran about 3 5000mah packs in the truck, Now that there  cycled more the truck flys and i got my slipper adjusted perfectly.

Does anyone adjust there slipper this way?

Here's how i adjust my slipper read it from a guy that race's in Car Action.

- Place both knees on rear wheels, Give it gas and if the front end lifts about 4-5inches then you hear the slipper slipping it's good. If it doesnt come up at all its way to loose and youll burn up your slipper pads and if its to tight the front end of the truck will wheelie straight up and you wont hear any slipping.

I found this method to get me right in the ball park of where it needs to be at then ill make a 1/8 turn at a time to tighten or loosen it till perfection.

I keep mine backed off about 1-2 turns but no more than that.  I prefer it tight.  Only broke one differential.

has anyone had issue's with the boddy cracking near the rear body mounts and on the side to the body mounts, Mines all messed up so i ordered the blue and white body cause blue is my favorite color and it goes with my blue shocks.

What should I Balance Charge my 2s 5000mah Lipo's at AMP wise?

I Curenttly set the charger at 5amps for Balance charging.  I thought i read the other day to balance charge on the lowest setting?
