Farmer do you think you could put the sliders on the upper door underside? Looks possible from here lol

These are the gear doors for my Sis-T FW. The sliders are on the edge of the upper door. Not sure what else you can see from the pictures.

Laffs!..

Terry you are getting there.. I bet you'll feel a lot more comfortable flying the TF than the Sis-T. Have you ever flown the Sis? I haven't yet.[&o]

What material did you use for the slider?

Thanks,

Ran the motor for another 45 min today but no flight...waiting for the replacement right main air cylinder. Getting a lot of confidence in the Roto 85, the needles are set well enough to run reliably and still be on the rich side. Did some video but cant load it here

Does that fit entirely within the cowl? The Roto I mean.

Start with post #1306, you can see the modifications N8 did to the cowl for the engine to fit comfortably.

Yeah Bob the engine is about a quarter of an inch within the dimensions of the Cowl, but I knew that with the engine offset, for the thrust angle, the left cylinder would protrude through The left side of the cowl

Yeah Tele when an engine is green it's not a good idea to lean them out on the initial run..... I like to Brake them in easy so they last a long time. But I guess I had already stated that they the needles are lean enough to run the engine reliably, yet still on the rich side.... You must have missed that last post on that subject

OK N8622t,

I'm officially jellous........................ What size prop are you turning at what RPM with that Roto?

Good luck with your maiden.

Take care,
David

Hello David I have ran two props so far, both XOAR. The 25x10 turns 5950 @ peak and the 24x12 is doing 5640 @ rich setting. I have not peaked the 24x12 yet but the two props are very close as far as engine load so rpm will be very close. When the engine has a few hours on it I will try my Biela 23x12 3 blade😄
