RE: Best scale photo!
Maybe he's just checking the tires....or got airsick! Actually it's sort of refreshing to see a pilot figure is something other than the standard straight ahead pose.

RE: Best scale photo!
BobH he is checking for divets cause there ain't any of the other things[:@]! May be he is just scared of my landings.
Paul, I used the plans hinges. Jerry Bates drew out scale hinges for ply or G-10. The thickness of the aileron with the hinge on the bottom makes for easily hiding the horn inside. I dropped a rod into the fuse for the pull pull rudder so its hidden also. Thanks for the compliment Paul. Denny and Jeff have builds on rcscalebuilder that show lots of detail. They have very nice Wildcats.
I have some IRF type hinges but have not found a good use for them yet. I don't think they will work well with a recessed hinge line.
Joe, once again nice shots of my Cat. I think the Saito 450 was the quietest liquid fueled motor at WOD.

Here's one taken recently at Albuquerque's ARCC Scale Meet on 6-28-8. It's Pat Tritle's electric Curtiss Jenny... literally on a dawn patrol before the rest of the flyers got started.

C-121 MATS Connie at 2008 Chatham Scale Rally, Ontario, Canada:
1- Waiting to be started for next flight.
2- Taxing back to it's designated parking spot.
3- Just touched down after another successful flight.

Perfect? No, but I think they're pretty good. All pictures were taken at the recent Woodland-Davis Aeromodelers Wings of Victory fly-in. More from the event can be seen [link=http://www.pbase.com/stevo71/2008_wda_wov]HERE[/link].

Stevo,
Very nice. Really like the P-38 and the shot of Dan Avilla's P-80. Quality stuff.
Lucky, you have a couple of winners there.

Hello Mike,
love the WW I bipes! Am building the Albatross myself (since 5 years...)
But the Pub (is it a Pub) apparently lost its engine on final. Or is it spinning so very fast, that not even a blur can be seen?
Cheers, Martin

RE: Best scale photo!
Some of these pictures have been enlarged soo much that they have lost their depth of field. Try to remeber that you are trying to make a model look like a real plane. Part of that is to put it in perspective with the real world...
I guess now's the time to re-post those photo requirements...
The photos should be the following...
A) The aircraft modeled must be that of an actual aircraft.
B) The model should be a "SCALE" model.
meaning...
It should look like the aircraft that is being modeled. If the real plane had strut and wheel covers... so should the model(it should'nt have music wire struts). There should be no rx antennas showing in the photo. If the real plane had a 3 or 4 blade prop, and this is a picture of that plane(model) on the ground? Then the model should have a 3 or 4 blade prop, not a Zinger 20x10. etc...etc.
Think of this as a kind of "Top Gun" of photo threads.
And finally, that brings us to the most confusing of the requirements of the photo.
...C) The photo should be "of an angle that you would actually be looking at the aircraft" or "as the eye perceives it".
...meaning...Don't post the picture of that beautiful Mustang with a guy holding it during engine run ups.
C1) "Out of scale" or "detail" pictures are fine as long as they are posted along with "their" "Best Scale Photo".
Thanks to all for participating...it's going great.
