New SV Gassers

RE: New SV Gassers
I agree with you Charlie. I paid $175 from HK shipped and the 644 carb cost me $35 for a total of $210, that's still cheaper than what I can get it for in the USA ($210-$225 not including shipping) without the better carb with choke and larger venturi.
But I still agree.

My engine runs fine, has no choke but needs one to start from cold. On the bench, I put my thumb over the carb and flipped it a few times. Still wouldn't flip start. So I spun it with my starter and it fired up. After that it would flip start.
I figured to make a choke plate, pivoting off one of the mounting bolts.

Andre, the #1 is to put pressure to the tank on weedeaters, plug it. #2 is for the fuel line from the tank!!! If you start this engine with a electric starter you will have no problems when cold
with no choke.. I made a choke plate for mine to help hand starts!! Hope this helps,,,,, Lotech

Hi!
I received my SV 26cc from HobbyCity last week. Is my first gas engine.
Beautiful engine, but I have some questions about his Walbro carb.
I take some pictures of his carb...
Point 1: what line I connect in this tube?
Point 2: in this tube I suppose that I connect the fuel line coming from tank. It´s ok?
Point 3: from where this tube comes?
Last questions... This carb don´t have choke. This bulb have the same finality? What´s the procedure do start this engine? How can I start this engine in a full cowled airplane?
Thank you!
Andre.

thank you to reply!
On number 1 tube, I can let it without line plugged?
One friend tell me that this kind of gas engine (with stand off mounts) can not be breakin in a stand, only on the plane, because of the vibration... this is true?
How much oil I need to add to gasoline to breakin period? And how much time to breakin this engine?
Sorry for the stupid questions (), but is my first gas engine and it came without manual! [:@]
**Lotech, can you upload some pictures of your homemade choke plate?
Thank you all!!
Cheers,
Andre.

chutt...Break in 20:1 to 25:1 for 2 to 3 hours, then you can run 40:1. Not sure I agree with your friend regarding breaking in on a stand or plane. Not sure of the vibration either. I would think the vibration would be more abusive to the plane.

Agree on your recs. I have one of HC's XYZ 28cc's Spec A, which was about $235 with shipping (as platinum member, forbidden to disclose our few dollars saved) Bought it nearly a year ago on a lark. Now running Amsoil Sabre at 65:1 with an APC 18X6W prop. Starts easily and flies my GB Wildstick great. I also bought another Wild Stick on close out from Tower and put the SL 52cc on it. Still running it on breakin fuel, but improving with every flight. I have bought over six various engine from HC, with no issues at all on any of them. The use of the Walbro carbs from Japan, really takes allot of the mistery out of these sweel little engines. I also have two DL-50's that are real powerhouses and very reliable so far. I am very impressed with my SV 50CC twin, so far!!

RE: New SV Gassers
Hi all!
My SV 26cc came with a 2 bolts propeller hub, so I need to drill two holes on the prop... Can I use a Master Airscrew without problem?
Somebody using attach system with Master Airscrew propellers?
Cheers,
Andre.

Hi Charley!
Thank you!
I bought this engine from HobbyCity, on the begin of September, and payed U$150,00. I did not run the engine yet, but it is very well made... HobbyCity do not sell the SV 26cc more, they only sell the SV 50cc and 100cc. SV 26cc have been sold now by RCS, or RCShowcase ([link]http://www.rcshowcase.com[/link]).
Here is some pictures of my SV 26cc...

RE: New SV Gassers
hello again.
hobby city now offers the FTL 26 !
we have one and are planning on flying today with it in a KMP corsair.
I'll let you guys know how that goes.
It is a little more than the SV but, looks better (as in stronger billet crankcase) , and runs very well!!
About the same weight, and a side carb.

Yes, RCS got the distributorship for SV in the USA and then the factory quit selling to Hobby City. Same thing happens over and over. Those engines are "junk" when sold direct from China but the quality improves when a US distributor gets in place! The quality is so much better that they cost ~$100 more! I should have bought a couple more of them from HC when I had the chance!
Thanks for the pics.

RE: New SV Gassers
We flew the FTL26 on the corsair tonite!!!
The plane weighs 12.86 Lbs. It was great for a engine that's not broken in yet!!
not awesome, but my friend insisted on a 14x9 3 blade on a new engine.
no overheat but, you could tell it didn't like it!!!
rough guess it was doing about 75-80 mph on the level .
On the ground tach was 7500.
btw HELLO Sam !!!
