I have a NIB SV26 that I bought new a little while back from HC. Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though I'll ever get to fly it. Too bad.

Ditto a nice CMP P-40 Warhawk with retracts. All NIB. I'll never get to fly it/them. It just goes to show you that you shouldn't put off doing things that you really want to do. You never know what the future holds for you.

Send me a PM if you want to talk about them and how they would have performed. At least I can still do that somewhat safely.

Better than I would have done......

Ennyhoo, you may be better situated geographically than I am to hunt for Chinese models, so...I've been looking for a ~84" wing span Citabria that Hangar 9 used to sell. I had one NIB but sold it because I had no way to transport it to the field. Now I have a long-bed PU but can't find the model. Would you be so kind as to do a search in the Asian market for me? It sure was a pretty model....

I saw that one, I was thinking the one I had was a Citabria. That one from the UK is kind of pricey what with the current exchange rates and shipping costs. That's why I've been looking in the Chinese market for the factory.

I maidened my PeakModel Extra330L with SV 26cc engine today. Good match. Engine flew flawlessy for 3 flights. I had some field gasser pros help set the needles as this is my first gasser. They got my engine running sweet. On 25:1 mix and a 16x8 JXF prop I'm turning 8500rpm peak. We richened back to 8300rpm. I can't wait to see what this engine will do once I go to 40:1.

I needed to remove the Hall affect sensor to send my SV-26 back for repair.

Can someone outline the steps in detail, using a degree wheel, to reset the timing correctly ?

I'm looking at one as I type this. I have had mine for 18 months. Still haven't put it on a Airplane, however I'm slowly building a 1/4 size ugly stick. I get 7,000RPM with a 20-10 ZOAR prop. Best motor I have ever owned. I haverun it 4 times on my test stand and it just gets better every time I run it.

I bought one of the SV 26 the other day from TBM. Mounted it up on a Wildhare Baby Extra, very easy with the included standoffs. At first it had a bad miss in the upper rpm range. Read this thread and retarded the timing as some of the early posters recommended and it completely cleared up. It turns a Mezjelik 18x6 prop at 7750. Also had to find some longer bolts for the prop, went to M4 35mm x .7. It came with M4 30mm x .7. Had to run a tap down the hub to clean up the threads. Looks like the newer ones have a different carb, mine is a Walbro WT 694 and it does have a choke on it. I'll test fly it again tomorrow and see how it runs in the air.

I was getting around 8300 with a 16x8 wooden Bambula. I bet you can get more out of yours with that prop and some tuning.

I actually did try that prop yesterday. turned 8000 rpm. But it did pick up some rpm's when I set the timing so 8300 isn't out of the question, plus this is a brand new engine, have run about a quart of fuel thru it so far.

I have just purchased one of the new SV -17cc single, and am a little miffed that their are no real instructions involved, to help me out , being this is my first gasser, what I can not understand is how the prop mounts to the shaft, all their is is a shaft with 2 long screws into the driver, no propmount spacer to hold the prop...... What is it I do not understand, or is their something missing......... Please help me out here!!!!!!!!!![]

There should be a round aluminim plate with two bolt holes, that mounts in front of the prop. Use the plate as a template to mark the two holes to drill, while the prop and plate are centered on the shaft.

Just like Ed says. Put the prop on the shaft, then the aluminum prop plate. Use a metric drill bit and drill through the holes into the prop half way. Then remove and just drill all the way through. You don't need a drill press. Make sure you put the holes on the blade sides of the prop.
