WOW!! New DL 111cc and 55cc !
I have attached an article that i feel is very helpful in making this adjustment to your carb. I adjusted mine and it now runs great.
NOTE,
This does not affect all engines so if your motor is runing fine the adjustment is not required.
Now let's check out the "float needle & seat" setting.
This is the single most critical setting on a Walbro carb! Walbro offers a "setting gauge" to properly set the height of the lever for your particular carb. If you don't have one, the setting will be a trial & error adjustment and a real pain in the butt since you have to open up the carb to make the adjustment. For general purposes, the lever will be almost perfectly parallel to the carb base. This will get you close. If the lever is too high, your engine will tend to run a little erratic at idle. If the lever is too low, your idle will be OK but it will tend to run lean on midrange and highend. It may also run the float cavity "dry" at full throttle and die, regardless of your highspeed /lowspeed needle settings.
Information was found at the following URL http://tech.flygsw.org/walbro_tuneup.htm
Hope this helps. I know it did work for my motor.
Send it to the service center address here, http://www.valleyviewrc.com/Contact%20us.htm, I will make it run and send it back to you, no charge. I will also tell you what's wrong with it and how to prevent it in the future if possible.
The two 50's have been awesome from day 1, the same for the 100, but the 111 is all over the place. It took the usual richening of the needles to get it to run and after a couple of tank fulls on the ground seemed pretty reliable.
The needle settings have to be adjustedalmost everyflight...its giving me a headache....also..i have lost a little on the top end (now on second gallon) and i'm noticing that one cylinder (on the right as you look at the plane from the front) is running richer than the other...any ideas?
Seems like that's a common thing with the twins. My 100 ran richer on the right cylinder for a couple of gallons. I now have a bit over 15 gallons through it and it runs very even. It takes a while for the rings to seat. That could be why you're chasing the needles. I had to keep leaning mine as I went. Now I never have to touch them. Sometimes it just takes time.
We are doing this with buddies DL100 now, and it's running great.. but still spitting black stuff.
His DL100:
32:1 Penzoil
about 3 gallons
6200 Xoar 27B 3D
I love it.
On the flights that I did that day, I was playing with the needles to see what happens to cylinder temps.
I have a Venom temp gauge on each cylinder.
This video was some of the last flight.
Temps are 237.7 degrees on the left cylinder and 234.3 on the right.
I am very happy with how it is tuned.

This is a little off topic, but here is a short clip of my DL-100. ( not the new DLE-111 )

my engine is the dle 111 and its just waiting to maiden my pau 37 % ultimate. Nothing isw wrong with it yet. after it flys very soon , I will let you know how good it is. Thanks for asking
I need help from you. I'm Roberto from Brazil and I will build my first gas airplane. the one I have is the yak 54 25% great planes and I have the DLE-55. Do you think this engine will be so much power for that size of plane, about the weight I think its not a problem, because its the same weight of DL50. The wingspan of this plane is 2056mm and Fuse is 1074mm. I have heard about this plane with DL-50 and the owners its so happy with it. If you can, please just let me know about this engine run in this plane.
Have a look at the yak 54 25% GP on the pic.
Thank you very much all.

It will be fine. I fly a GP Extra 330S with a DL 50. There is very little difference between the 50 and 55.
ok. Thank you very much Super08. I think will be fine too. I just asked to know from experts Rc pilots.
