WOW!! New DL 111cc and 55cc !
Just saw that these things we're released now over on TBM and valley view. >>> http://www.valleyviewrc.com/Gas%20Engines.htm Coming from DL....you know they are gonna be good! I also noticed they are "lighter" than the previous 100cc and 55cc.

I talk with Tom at Valley View and he will still service the 50's and the 100's, I think I might buy another(last of the mohekens)DL50's for future use.

I wonder what all the DL 50 and DL 100 people are going to do for parts in the future? Did they just change the jug?

Time to buy up parts before they are gone. Just read in another thread that the parts are dried up for the old ZDZ 80. Won't be buying a used one of them anytime soon.
Them DL's look nice. Heard they are doing a 222 also. Any new info on that one?

Gents, I see you are sold on the DL Engines.. Please comment pros and cons against the DA engines? I like the fact i can have more Airplanes and engines with Cheaper price But i like performance as well for 50 Gassers on 3D and Warbirds.. I"m in the middle of No where so i don't get much feedback other than these Forums. My buddies back in south Texas use DA religiously and don't like to change..

I just ordered mine hopefully be here next thursday or friday. Does anyone already have on? Also have a DL 100 tom said the only change was the jugs punched out a little more for the 111 so that means if you have the 100 that needs parts you later on your ok.

I too am waiting to pull the trigger on a 100cc classed engine. The anticipation of some real world testimony on the 111 is killing me!

Time to buy up parts before they are gone
Unless people panic and go out and buy up all the parts.
This DA / DL pros and cons thing has been flogged to death.
Seriously though, a search will turn up more info on the 2 engines than you care to read. Pop a HUGE bowl of popcorn and get a few cases of your favorite beverage and have at it!

Wont be able to fly this weekend on account of the weather(cyclone) here, but will do a few heat cycles and tune the needles.

Looking good dude. I notice that they come with the new hub too.
Where is your floats?, or are you going to hand launch?.

OK guys I am missing something. I have a DL50. If you look at the specs of the 50 and 55 the only thing that has changed is they raised the compression. I have read people saying they changed the bore or stroke but the specs just dont show it. I am sure it will be another winner but i am just trying to figure out where they are getting the extre displacement.

I guess they could change the crankshaft journal size to get a larger displacement, but an increase in compression would suggest a milled head,or a thinner head gasket, maybe a dome piston.
If it's as good as the 50, it will be a winner for sure.[8D]

They come with some little standoffs as well, but not the ones in the photo.
I have a launch stand, vertical take off and landings.

The bore is 2mm bigger, stroke is the same. And compression is up from 7.5 to 7.6. Does have a dome head piston, but so does the 50/100
Rest of engine is the same as the 50 & 100
The skirt at the bottom of the cylinder is 2mm larger in diameter, and the crankcases have been bored out a short depth where its meet the head to accomodate the new head/skirt.
Crank, Reeds, Carby, new prop hub etc are all interchangeable with the 50 & 100
The new head is missing the bottom cooling fin, except for a short stub under the exhaust outlet. But the rest of the fins are now square from top to bottom, and no longer taper/reduce in size from top to bottom if you look at side on.
I pulled a new 55 and 111 apart to verify.
Cheers
