Guys
Mine was an early kit so not complete. The models should be as pre fabbed as the 2.1 Extra, Elevators are hinged-with all the parts to hand it would normally take me a week of spare time.
Now I have headers that fit, that was the longest wait.

Would a pitt's muffler work with this plane or would that hack up the cowl to much? Look's great and should perform awesome at 16 lbs.!!

I think it would fit, but you would probably end up with each end of the can sticking out of the cowl.

Thanks for the pix Dave. Please keep the details coming.
I just pulled the trigger and ordered the blue/white one. I think you guys are crazy about not liking this paint scheme. I think it looks great! Then again I'm from the US and red, white & blue is always in style. I'm so excited that this paint design does not have any CompArf or JR type logos or anything else on it. Nice and clean without advertising for someone's brand. The no seam on the top of the cowl plus the clean primary wing fillet are all very nice as well. Nice clean look. I have not been happy with the finish of my models (wrinkles!) since my CA 2.6 Extra. I'm looking forward to a wrinkle free finish again!
Anyway, I like it! But that should be obvious by now.

I'm waiting to hear from Shapiro to see if I got the last one that was available in the first container. I have not been given any hard dates yet, other than the first container is in transit. If I lost out on the last one then it will be another 30 days past when ever the first ones arrive. I will post Shapiro's delivery info when I here.

I'll try again since the post has gone in the refresh
Few more install details, the actual installation was compromised slightly as I didn't expect it to be so nose heavy! The rudder tray should have been a little higher and the batteries could have gone under it.

nose heavy that is good to hear I was afraid that with the long tail moment it would be tail heavy. but now that the plane is here as work allows the building will begin

love it so far wings and stabs all are VERY tight fit to fuse is also tight the canopy looks like it is going to be PITA to make work. We shall see this is so going to rock when done

Ok
I managed to test fly the Yak this morning in murkey conditions but light winds.
From the deck I was quite surprised by how in trim it was-nothing touched.
Rolling manouvres normally give me a C of G idea and some harriers and it was nose heavy still so at the end of the flight I added 1 1/2 ounces to the tail.
Like this it better but I still need to experiment, rolling is great, not as much elevator punch as I expected but the c of g will help that as I go futher back and possibly get more movement.
Even with the motor running in and using a 23 x 8 prop "hanging" was easy
I think it's going to be a great aeroplane-it has loads of vertical even with a new tight motor
Three flights today only so I'll get it dialed in and give you guys a C of G to shoot for.

Guys
OK checking C of G with some additional weight I added to the tail a good starting point is to balance the fuselage with tails on (no wing spar or wings as its easier)
My YAK 55 balances between the back of the wing tube hole and the 6mm wing fixing screw hole

Thanks for the info Dave. We are here reading your comments even if we are not posting. Please keep them coming. CA just sent me a message about the second shipment almost being sent. I did not get one from the first shipment. I hope they will not take to long.
You indicated that you are still nose heavy, yet your photos look like you are already a bit tail heavy with the sagging tail? However, sometimes a picture does not tell it all.
Thx,
Kregg

Dave
According to the building instructions the CG should be placed 150-160mm from the trailing edge at the wingtop. Where do you have your CG at the moment?
I would also like to know how much right-/down-trust you have on your engine.
Regards
Robert

It does not fly tail down, the pixs were sliding for the camera, slow with rudder.
Pix inverted after adding weight to the tail (you can just see the weight strip on the tail wheel arm) like this it needs a tiny amount of down inverted, For me I feel it could go back more...but maybe more elevator movement will do it so I'm going there first.
My early kit has some epoxy around the hinge points that stop the bevels touching.

Sorry
I have 1/2 degree down and 2 degrees right, but I think with a 10" pitch prop it will need a little more right

Guys
OK just had the wings on to check C of G and photo the model with a tinted canopy-I couldn't find a pilot I liked so I've used Pactra Candy Blue tint instead!
My C Of G is 145mm forward of wing tip TE with the tail weight
