Gary this is a fresh repaint view of a new triumph rocket three tank and sidecover.I did the whole bike in cherry black kandy over a platinum silver base. The owner is so stoked he's cracked a woody.

Jim you keep those smelly two strokes outta here...same with slimline mufflers save them for the two stroke gassers. An analogy would be you crying poor and buying the missus half a bikini, reckon she'd wear that in public?

Dave do you think it would be better to run an apc prop for comparisons? saito use apc's in their engine manuals to set the benchmark prop so the user knows what to expect re peaking the engine and coming back a couple of clicks on the main, with a half tank of fuel.

That is fine about the prop Dave. I have plenty and I am not doing static thrust measurements anymore anyway.

No fooling , Indian has been slaughtering Harley in flat track racing. Indian sales are booming too. "Triumph " and "Rocket Three" just don't seem to go together but that bike is quite a machine, a far cry from the old 750cc superbike of 1969.

Jim,I was thinking it might be a phone camera. Nice pics!
If that Slimline work, go for it! They don't affect performance on four strokes like they do on two strokers

Bisson isn't far from you. 132 miles.

OS 75/90. pipes swept back 70 degrees if you like.

Bisson on Webra .50
Pete, you need to place the Injun 10 miles behind with it's tongue hanging out,

Jim, why not check out Bisson, pronounced Bissone, the French way, they are a very nice couple.

I saw an article on Harley yesterday. They said the reason HD was in trouble because their parts don't wear out fast enough and the younger generations doesn't have the money or the interest in investing in a new Harley. They didn't see the great orange tax cheat's call for a boycott to be a factor.

My riding days are over the old body can't take the stress. Due to a lack of OEM parts next month's overhaul will see a Titanium alloy knee being installed. The jury is still out on the left hip they are thinking its just Bursitis. I'm thinking its compensating for worn out right knee.

Mono tube, best ride most ride control.

Saito 80 T
I am 76 and can still ride my Sportster 1200 C 400 miles to my daughter's in way northern W.Va. Those 13.5" Progressive 440's are Rolls Royce like As are the fork springs. These could be next if I sell this.

Guys, I just purchased a lot of fiber filled engine mounts and have more than I need. Most are for 2 cycle engines but I do have a few for the Satio 40, 45, 50. Most are Dave Brown but I also have some Hayes, Diamond Motorsport, World Model, Hornet, and AeroSpere. If you have a need/want drop me a PM and we'll see what we can do.

That is waaay funny! Written by Harley ?
They have certainly done a good job of fixing that "not wearing out fast enough" part of their "problem". Their mufflers sure don't last long at all
Overpricing is a factor. The smarter, younger generation is buying better bikes with names like "Indian" ,"Ducati", "KTM"' "Triumph", "Honda" etc. Some of them cost every bit as much or maybe a bit more. Then again, most are better and still cost less. Harley is in trouble and scrambling for answers.

Right around the 120,000 mile mark I put a pair of "Wirth" springs in the stock Guzzi tubes into my 1993 California III daily driver/vacation hauler. The Guzzi tubes didn't require an upgrade, they were fine right out of the crate. Plenty comfortable for the year round daily commute as well as 700 to 900 mile/day rides.

My father was still riding at 86, still owned 4 motorcycles.Hopefully I will be able to match him, or at least get close. I retire this spring and plan to ride to Alaska as soon as I get out.

I will admit I like Harleys but if I was to buy another bike I would want a Vintage Indian Chief. I love the look with the wide white walls, the chrome, and the Chief head on the front fender that lights up. Very classy!

According to Dave Brown these fit the Saito 40, 45, and 50. The one on the left is a Hayes which is the same mount.

Pete, I know you dislike 2 Strokes, but that HP is pure 2 Stroke Art.. and as for the Pitts muffler, I would much rather use the stock muffler, but I'm just looking at my options.. as for you pant job, my hat is off to you, you are one he!! of a painter !! if I ever win the lottery I will buy an old 1971 Chevy Nova SS, rebuild the body, and have YOU pain it, but it wont be red,,,, to bad it will never happen

Gary, I figured the Slimline would be OK, but just had to ask to keep my options open, the little Wold Models is almost done, funny thing>>, today I tested the balance of it, I put the battery and Rx where the manual shows, I used SubC SCRs 2 pac, put the wing on and flipped it over and put it on the balancer and it was balanced perfect, I could not believe it, something with this plane actually came out good, but then I put the Under Belly on it and the tail dropped a bit, but still it's closer than any plane I have ever put together..

Dave, I did check out Bisson, I have their link in my favorites, well they did not have Saito listed, I wonder what's up there with that

Bisson Custom Mufflers

Jim
if you happen to buy another brand, we know Saito will still be setting in the back of your thoughts

Dave here's a bike you can lean a long way over to make cornering exhilarating, most riders i know hate it when they get to a good set of corners and get stuck behind a procession of no ground clearance harleys hogging your corner speed.

A top quality brand new repro 73 Z900 kawasaki tank sprayed in house of kolor kandy lime green over fine planet green basecoat.Dave will now love it
Mike, good luck with the new knee and don't forget you have to kick start them, the old indians are a lot harder to ride back from the pub mate.

What does everyone here think about using apc props to gauge peak rpm on your saito? it's rare to see anyone with a graupner prop at the field most are using apc, mas, zoar or zingers.

The axle bolt on the right is only 1/16th" from the top muffler or I could screw the shocks down tighter. Short Shots would give it some more space but I hate their sound.
Sorry Jim, somewhere I got the idea you needed a Pitts for an OS 70 to 90. The Turbo Header is my choice for a compact flexible exhaust.

Pete, I think the new Graupner G-Sonic props are very APC like. I received two yesterday for the OS 56 Aplha and for a Saito 56.
With my 13.5" shocks I have no trouble scrubbing my tires edge to edge.

Going to run the 120DP this weekend both with and without the factory crankcase pump system. Someone mentioned that the fuel economy was actually improved with the pump version. We'll have to see about that!

We used to refer to those flat bottom section cruiser tires as "Chicken Strips" Remember when Schwinn bicycles had bigger front tires than some of today's chopperesque cruisers?

Not that I don't like cruisers, but I still like a little sportiness in the twisties When time comes.
