RE: SuperTigre owners club!Post your oppinions-pics etc.
I have the ST51. Easy to start, never need to play with the needle. Idles for minutes without loading up, and then transition is right now. Best props- APC 12x4, 12.25x3.75, 11x5. Zinger 12x5 pretty good also. Had mounted it inverted and sideways, it didn't care and ran the same.
I hate the muffler though. Retired the engine partly due to my hatred of the muffler, partly because I wanted to try other engines. I did get the Macs one piece muffler, hope the power is the same.

Here are my ST's, back row left to right is a second hand (from you-know-where ) GS45 ABC, a brand new S45 ringed (also from y-k-w) and the CL version of the G51 with a Bolly CF muffler.
Front row is a baffled piston G20-19, G20-15 and finally a G15.

It's designed to hold silicon tubes cut to whatever length you need. I'm also sure you have it bolted on up side down. It's designed to have the engine inverted and the outlets pointing down. That would leave the exhaust outlets and head pointing in the same direction.

I guess an owners club thread can never get too old.
Here are two different versions of the X.11 engines. The pretty blue heads ones are no good, but the the plain heads ones are great. They have the ST porting and will give the modern ABC technology ASP/SC .12 a match.

Here's my son's 20 dollar eBay ST 51. Runs like a top on 20% oil, 15% nitro, 11x6 APC, OS8 plug. (Spinner and prop in first picture were soon replaced with a Dave Brown and APC well balanced, big difference.) It had loose head screws at first, but after that I had no trouble with it. New carb fresh o-ring from one of my Stunt engines, didn't mess with it after one session setting the mid range, then a super accelerator, great idler, and almost as sweet as a 150 dollar OS 46 AX or 200 dollar 55 AX.
I have two ST 51's in Stunt models and run them on 22% oil, castor/synthetic mix. First flip, steady as a stone.

Let me think, G .15, rear rotor g .15, and a rear rotor x .15, front intake X .25 car motor converted to control line, maybe 3 .40s, and a couple .45s, a .51, .61 and a .75. I can't really complain about any of them except parts availability.

I just received a new Bisson Pitts Muffler for my SuperTigre Diesel conversion, great looking muffler. It will be quieter and much better looking than the leaky J-Tec that's made for a larger gas engine.

Those mufflers are very nice. They run and sound great. The engines seem to like running at 90 degrees. Especially in a plane that has a cheek or cowl that you can fit tight with just the head exposed even if you have to install the head after the cowl is in place.

I am seriously looking at this guy, 104" span, it would be a piece of cake to mount the 4500 on its side, I could make the right cowl cheek a bolt on quite easily. I did that on a BTE Flyin King

Mind the ice there, stay safe.

It would be nice if some other Mfr would continue the Tigres... all the ones I ever had were great. I bet the could even fit into this small gasoline revolution with a few tweaks and be a real competitor.

Easy conversion if you have the carb adapter, the G90 is 15mm fit, the G2300 is 17mm fit.
I haven't used either long enough for an extended reliability test but they both work a charm.
No changes to crankshaft bushes for me, I like higher oil contents anyway. Once run in (gas with 8% semi-synthetic oil), oil ratio can be reduced safely to 6%-6.5% (1:15 - 1:16 ratio) with good quality semi or fully synthetic oil.
Some reduce the oil further but personally I would not go below 5%, needle bearings on conrod can reduce oil further but I would never go below 1:32 ratio (around 3%) so don't bother with needle bearings.

I have a Super Tigre Serie X .60 in decent shape, needs a ring and a muffler . Its a somewhat rare engine and I would love to see it go to a good home as I will never use it. Let me know if anyone has an interest in it.
