Default Help i cant fly either



im using a spektrum dx61 controller

comp specs
amd althon 64 64 3000+
1gig on ram
nvidia 6600

i have addons 1-2 and 3
i initially installed all 3 as per the instructions but have since removed the program and only reinstalled 1 and 2

Hi, what is the exact error message or problem you are facing? Could you describe the type of usb interface cable you are using, and the type of adapter cable? Thx

there is no error message, the screen flashes black and stays at the initial screen when i hit fly

the cable white with an ovalish black box on it, i have bridged the wires to make it a mono so it will work with the spektrum
i can move the controls in the menus with the controller

Hi, there could be a few possibilities that contribute to this problem:
1. You have not installed the correct AFPD patch. Try installing the latest patch 1.11.7.21 http://www.aerofly.com/www/downloads.html
2. It may be a problem with the graphic card driver. Update your driver and see if the problem goes away. You also need to ensure that your graphics card hardware acceleration is at maximum.
3. It could also be an overheating problem in the computer or card incompatibilities. Ensure your computer is properly vented.
4. The problem may also be the sound card driver. Update your driver and see if the problem goes away.
5. If you're using an on-board sound card, you may want to try disabling the directsound hardware acceleration.To change the audio hardware acceleration setting:
1) Click Start, and then click Run.
2) In the Open box, type dxdiag, and then click OK.
3) Click the Sound tab.
4) Under DirectX Features, move the Hardware Sound Acceleration Level slider all the way to the left (no acceleration).
5) Click Exit.

thanks for the quick replys
ill try that stuff now

i just turned my sound on and when i hit fly the aircraft makes noise but remains at the initial screen
if that helps at all

No luck
i have updated my card driver
i have updated with the new patch
the computer is vented well and was cleaned out recently
im using the onboard sound card and have changed the acceleration setting

still remains in the initial screen after briefly flashing black after hitting fly
sound of the helicopter plays

Just want to say thanks to the original poster and respondent.

Had the same problem - after pressing the FLY button I got the black screen flash up for 0.5sec then back to the main screen.

Followed the advice suggested of installing patch 1.11.07.21 and that fixed the problem! I'm up and flying! [8D]

It says on the official patch download site that early graphics cards (Nvidia GeForce 6000 or earlier) are not supported by this patch. Well, I have a Nvidia GeForce FX5200 card and all is working fine with the latest patch.

having the same issue exactly,,im using windows 7 home premium ,,and using a nvidia ge force 9500 gt card,,,just purchased and updated,,,any suggestions anyone???
