I was just hasslin' you Jimbo. Chances are more guys would think they are wrong if you do make them staggered! Just make 'em neat and tidy and most guys won't know they difference. The Jug is looking great by the way, nice work.

Thanks for that......[img][/img] Stupid TF Manual..........[img][/img] I don't think you can doit right on the TF, just isn't a lot of room to stagger them like the real one, but I will check to see if I can...........

And by the way, why don't you build one like we are doing, then I wouldn't mind you coming in here stepping on my nuts. Until then HoundDog, step off.

Wow, that is one amazing static model. Would love to see him do a flying model!

I think museums commission him to build models for their displays.
Hey Jimbo, Enjoy your weekend! [8D]

Hi Shrek,
I haven't glassed my 47 yet, but will do a step by step with pics in this thread when i do. I have used it on other projects and it has worked awesome.. If you use the recommended 1/2oz cloth it's 3 coats total, thicker glass will need more coats.. I have used it on glass up to 2oz and it took one extra coat before primer..
One coat before glass, one coat to apply the glass and one coat to finish, sanding each coat.. I love how sandable it is, it's very easy to use.. I should be glassing this coming week sometime........

Jimbo...
Great Job...keep plugging away....it is looking like a plane more and more every day.
For the rivet irons that I am using I posted some pics on page 58 post 1442.
Let me know if they are satisfactory otherwise I will post some other ones.
Biggest challenge for me burning rivets is to keep the primer layer next to the chart line as even as possible.
As you burn away some take a split second and some take a few seconds depending how thick the layer is.

I still do not have my color scheme yet, I have looked at so many trying to find one and just can't make up my mind.... I think I am worse then my my wife picking out shoes!!!!!
I was telling Gary on the phone the other day, I might do a combo of different parts from several planes and come up with my own scheme...
Welcome to the thread by the way, lots of great people in here..........

She looks good standing on her feet Jimbo, good job. That's always a proud moment.

Question on the tailwheel air lines? Did you guys just drill into each former to hold them in place as they go to the tail? I am thinking of adding a tube, just in case i ever need to replace them and still keep them from bouncing around.. How did you guys do yours?

Finishing the bottom of the fuse...
What do you guys think about putting the air tank down lower in the fuse, so that if you need to, you can remove it pretty easy.. If you put it in the stock location, the cockpit would be in the way of removing it...

I mounted mine in the stock location so I could have room to work on the hidden switches and air fill valve if necessary. Plus, it's easier to reach my hand through the bottom than it was through the top so I could mount my remote receivers.

ahhhhhhhhh the hatches, forgot about those little gems.. I wasn't going to have to put one in for air when i was going with electrics and a pin switch, that's changed.. Looks like I better lay out the hatches and install that before I close things up.. Time to go digging and see how y'all did yours.......

I ended up not using the hinges, I thought they would snap off at some point, so I went with a tab to hold the bottom of the hatch and RE magnets to hold the top.
