That is what is so cool about the kadet series planes. You can do just about anything to them and they still fly like a kadet.
The astro hog is the same way. Can't tell you how many different kit bashes of that I have seen and they all fly like a hog. Love SIG.

They love to fly. I was flying my LT the other day with the FG-11 on it, and had it too lean, so when I went vertical and chopped throttle, it quit. It flipped its nose over, gained speed, and I flew it to a landing, though it was too fast and long for the RC runway, and I wanted to avoid the hay field, so I held wings level, kicked full left rudder, spun the nose 90 degrees left, and landed on the main runway.

Any other plane would have dropped wing and slammed into the ground.

Did you damage your transmitter when you kicked "full left rudder"? Sorry, just couldn't resist

Before I flew my Kadet, the other day, a few pilots were having a debate as to what full size air frame I was replicating. Once I flew my Kadet, the figured it out. LOL

I attended a flyin, last weekend. There were no less that six Bravos there ! Many flew at the same time.

A pair of 1/3 Spacewalkers flew together, joined by Sig's. 1/4 scale version.

Sig was well represented at this giant scale event.

We had two, 12X12 canopies. Eight pilots were using them. The comraderie was terrific, and I enjoyed myself to the hilt.

Even if you don't fly, I would suggest that you take a model to a flyin, and set it up. Sitting in the pits, shooting the bull with other pilots, and watching models fly, is a great way to spend a weekend.

Congratulation Tom on your successful maiden. I remember your build thread. It's a good looking plane.

OKC
if you could make it up to the Davenport Iowa area. There is a children cancer fly this weekend Friday Saturday and Sunday. I know it's short notice but leave your planes at home and you can fly one of mine.

Thanks for the offer but I was in Kansas helping my son this past weekend and this weekend I need to catch up around my place. We have been getting some rain so it's yard work time again. YUK! Next month I'm travelling for work and November we are going to visit our son in Chicago. He has been trying to get us up there for 2 1/2 years.

Tempting, but my son in Chicago is offering to treat me to a trip to Oshkosh next year. If I do one I won't do the other. There is an airplane in their permanent collection I have been wanting to get up close an personal with for sometime.

Just get out and go to a flyin. As stated above, pilots bring their best stuff, when they attend.

I took this, last weekend.

Strudel....Strudel

Yeah, I got nothing.

I was giving some consideration for that RC event down in Erie IL, its only 2 hours for me, but its going to be too hot, and I hate hot weather with a passion. It was hot at the SIG Fun Fly, but the winds kept us cool, 20 MPH winds are really good at that.

Been waiting for a decent windy day out of the East so I can get the 168 back in the air. It has been too calm(can't believe I am saying this) to get it flying. Since it is so big and has so much wing and weight, I need the wind to slow it down until I can get the hang of the flaps and get them setup for easy landings. I don't have a long enough runway for it, and it will roll quite a ways without power.
