Rick, those are absolutely beautiful. I have a Morane Saulnier boned up and waiting on me to get busy again. You may have given me a shove after seeing yours.

Yes, Doc, you are more than welcome. Your number is 103. The building skills that you and Doc G display are excellent, I always learn something following your construction threads. Those of you who not follow the construction threads on RCSB, you are missing a great learning experience. Marc has 2 threads on RCSB, Balsa USA Kits, page 1, Doc's Albatros by shelsrm and BUSA Nieuport 28 Mark II. While you are there check out Nieuport 28 1/3 scale (Doc) another excellent read.

It would be helpful for me if all BUSA Brothers would post their BUSA Brotherhood number in their signature. If I have missed anyone please let me know.

Thanks for all of the complements as they are greatly appreciated. The only one at Dayton was the Morane. The Pup was destroyed
3 days before the show due to a elevator problem. What is left of it is in my van. i am building a new one at this time.

Thnaks, Rick

I installed longer aileron ext. from the receiver and I think I might of pulled on the elevator ext
and it came out. All of the servos worked after the crash. The day of the crash, the Pup was
flying for 10 minuets, landed, refuled and back up. My son was going to fly it at Dayton and he
was flying it when the elevator went out. He felt so bad I though he was going to cry ( he is 48).
I told him dont worry about it, no one got hurt and I can build another one..

I was looking through an old 1980 issue (OK.... hands up if 1980 still seems like yesterday) of Radio Control Modeler magazine and ran across this old BUSA ad.

Of note is the Tempo II. Either it didn't sell well or whatever but they did not produce it for long so not many people know about it. My local haobby dealer of the time used to keep most of the BUSA kits in stock so I flew my share of them as they were pretty much all I could afford back then. I flew a couple of the Tempos and they flew great. Basically they were just fancy Swizzle Sticks as it was the same wing but it introduced you a full fuse build. Later I added ailerons before the super sticks came out.

Surprisingly I did not know about the little Pee-Wee stick. I was all too familiar with the 19,30,40 and 60 Swizzle Sticks so I thought this ad was interesting. I suppose it asking too much find a set of Pee-Wee plans so someone would have to scale down one of the larger sticks.

Later,
Mike

Both my hands are up.! It may be possible to buy the plans from BUSA; it used to be so. Good luck.

When I was in Germany '81 to '85, I taught several new guy to fly with the Swizzle Stick 40, with a KB 40. After they were on their own, we moved up to the Smoothie 40. You could modify the Smoothie to look like several other aircraft with covering and simple mods. I built many P-40 & P-51 smoothies. I still have the plans for most of their 40 size planes. In '81 I bought the 1/3 scale Fly Baby Biplane, the Quadra 35 and enough coverrite covering to finish the aircraft, all for less than $250.00.

These pictures were taken in 2001 when I put it up for sale. I flew this airplane in 7 countries and 5 US States. Wonderful flying airplane.
