I have not used Oratex but I have read on other sites that it is very much like Solartex. Read the instructions and I think if you go on You Tube and search Oratex & Solartex, you will find several videos on the subject. Try a small piece on some ope frame work and sheet balsa. Let us know what you think. Post pictures if you can.

Dont mind the bench, I was sorting some boxed up stuffs... boy what a project that was, anyways its covering time after I take the tail back off and get the landing gear off so I can get the fuse covered. Oh the tail on this monster is bolted on so If I need to remove it I can.

Pictured above , are some turnbuckles that I made, 14 to be exact , they were time consuming but easy with a small collet lathe and a bridgeport to drill cross holes and slot the clevis ends.

Camel Question. I've had a couple of side projects but I'm finally getting back to finishing up my 1/4 scale Camel. I finally got tired of fighting with the Homelite conversion.The Homelite on my Nieuport 17 still runs like a top after 14 years but the engine on the Camel just wasn't working out. I think there is a compression issue. I may move my conversion parts to a different core. In the meantime I finally just ponied up and bought a new G-26. It is a nifty little engine and it seem to be the engine pictured in the BUSA Camel's manual. The G-26 is considerably lighter in weight so i am having to rebalance the airplane. This leads to my question. For those who are flying the Camel, where do you end up balancing it? The plans appear to show a balance point four inches back from the leading edge of the upper wing. This is at 29% of the upper wing chord but doesn't seem to take into account the lower wing. If you figure the mean aerodynamic chord it looks as though the balance point should be over 1.5 inches farther aft. I need to double check all my figures and I don't want to try to take off with a tail heavy Camel. I'd like to hear what others are using as a balance point.
