I got the Wing Manufacturing B25 Pro series kit. The balsa in this kit is beautiful. So far, only one glitch, but I was able to ask questions of a experienced Wing B25 builder, and we got the problem fixed quickly. I'm not sure what I going to use for power as of yet. I figure I have plenty of time to choose. I'm a big OS fan. They're very reliable in twins. Anyhoo, I'm cutting out the aileron servo hatches now, and hope to be joining the wing halves together tonight. It'll all depend on how ambitious I get.....

I am in looks great what glue did you use on the wing.

I used the 3M styrofoam spray glue to sheet the wings. This past weekend I was able to mount the aileron servos to the hatches, put the fiberglass wrapping around the outboard wing panesl, and join the wing halves together as well. I was also able to watch the Bears win!

I also have a kit of this beauty, probably awaiting my retirement! Thought I let you in on a little issue that the first kits had, I don't know if later ones had this issue taken care of. Quite a few years ago at Top Gun (when in Palm Beach), Hal Parenti, the designer of the kit was flying this model as his entry and I was talking to him while he was setting up the model before flight had began and I noticed a reinforcement with nomex honeycomb (the same one I used to market back in those days) and I asked him about it, and he told me that the design was weak in the fuselage area just front of the leading edge of the wing and that it cracked open in that area, thus the reinforcement he did on this particular model (I believe it was the second prototype), so I tell you all to reinforce this area with some birch plywood, a 1/16 inch in thickness would suffice or stiffen the area with fiberglass and epoxy, if the kit already comes with a doubler in that area, then it means the issue has already been taken care off. His model weighed in at around 17 lbs and flew with OS 48's four strokers if I remember correctly, he also used an on board Flight Stabilizer, it had more than enough power, it had to be throttled down actually for normal flight. His was covered with silver monokote or similar material (it's been a long time), but I remember that he went for the lightest finish available, so watch what you put on for finishing as the weight could easily be near 19 lbs. and try and keep that tail as light as possible as most twins have a tendency to be tail heavy. I had heard about reinforcing that particular area and will pay close attention when I get to that point. I still have a ways to go. I still havent pick which size engines I plan to use. I'm partial to O.S. I have had very good luck with them in my twins. .48 four strokes huh?

Took the day off from work. "A day in the work shop is better than a day at work"......Right? Anyhoo, made some progress on the tail feathers, and started on one of the nacelles. MY puter is only allowing me to upload one pic at a time, so I'll post a few tonight.

Just couldnt help noticing a few things we have in common. 1.) You have the same kit as I do. Mine will be the next kit to get stated on. Must finish my 1/5 Waco first. 2.) You have the same T.V. remote as I do. R.C.A.??? 3.)Your using the same glue, 2oz. bottle that I use. 4.) You use the same "project fatique neutralizing fluid" 12oz bottle, that I also use. Keep the info coming. Looks great so far. I will be using 2 O.S. .70 4-stk's on mine when I finally get to it.

Do you Have a Dodge Viper in the driveway too!?!?............Me neither. Anyhoo, keep an eye on the little things on this kit. I'm starting to get a headache. The latest is the non-reversal of a former in the tail of the fuse.The plans clearly show the F13A former in a "n" position as are the other formers. When installed per the plans, the coutour of the stringers and the outside of the formers do not align. So I had to dig the former out and re-install it...........[:@]

Can you tell us more about how the 3M Styrofoam adhesive works? Do you spray it on each surface, let dry, than put the parts together? Can the balsa be wet when using the spray? How much area will a can cover? I have a styrofoam wing that will get covered soon and I don't like the adhesive I've been using. Besides I'm a retired 3Mer and any can sold helps my pension.

ChuckI, I used the 3M sytrofoam adhesive. I simple sprayed both surfaces, waited a few seconds and put the two sides together. I then applied weight and then let sit for a while. I found the Dave Browns Southern Sorgham works much better (sorry 3M) and would recomend using that instead of the spray. I just feel better about the bond.

Meanwhile, apart from rebuilding the top of the tail sections, progress is slow, but sure.

Upper fuse sheeted. Retract rails installed (Nose gear) Pushrods and antannae tube installed. Bout ready to sheet the lower fuse. Had the day off due to the blizzard.

Hey Fili, these pic's are making me want to NOT finish current plane, & start on my B-25. looks fantastic so far. I dont have the retracts for mine yet, are they needed early in the constuction, or can much be done before there needed?
