That's a good start! Where you able to find the spinner for it? I have the GP spinner it's exactly like the TF Cessna 182 spinner except the Lear is white and the Cessna is red. I bought so I could have a choice for my Cessna and then turned around and bought and aluminum spinner.

Nope, I haven't even started looking for the spinner. There are a couple of swap meets between now and the maiden. I'm hoping to find one there.....
And why didn't I start flying while I was living in OKC. I imagine there are lots of nice flying sites.(I actually lived in Choctaw)

Motorman, sorry no one responded to your question. I was hoping someone with better experience than I would respond. I have the kit but haven't started it yet. Looks like there is a single piece wing jig that comes with the kit and gets pinned to the plans. You just need to identify it. According to the manual, the wing is built upside down and the thickest part of the jig goes towards to wing root.
Hope this helps.

Don't you just hate it when you look and look for something. You are convinced it is not in the kit. Then you post a question on the forums asking for help and then go back o look "one last time" and you find whatever it is you were looking for...sigh....
I the plus side I am making pretty good progress.....now...lol

I own the red Top Flite Cessna 182 plastic spinner for the 182 kit and the white Great Planes .40 LearJet plastic spinner for the LearJet kit and I can say without a doubt the only difference is the color. I can't comment on how the TF ARF spinner matches up but if the diameter is correct I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be a perfect fit.

Looks great motoman! Keep up to good work. Are you going with fixed gear?
FlyerInOKC, looks like you're at about the same place in the build. Fixed gear too?
I'll have to check the plans about the spinner. The one I'm watching on eBay is 2.25 dia, 3.25 long. If I go with the metal one I would want to paint it.

I'm in the same boat flyerinOKC. My first order of business is to get my (already built) models flying again. Would love to start on a new kit though.
I went ahead and ordered the TF C182 spinner from tower as it qualifies for free shipping. The spinner measures 2 1/4 D & 3 1/4 L. Measuring the spinner on the plans was 2 1/4 D & 3 L. Close enough for me and it should have the proper profile.

No, I've got a set of E-Flite Electric retracts I'm dropping in. With an OS 55 up front it should be no problem (powerwise anyway)

Electric retracts are the way to go. Took forever to set up the mechanicals on my Spitfire...Hey were are spitfire brothers.
I'll try to post more photos of the sheeted fuselage.

I'm at the point where I'm trying to glue the Wing tips and the engines together. What is the best way to do this? anybody????
Do I just glue them with CA and hope for the best? fill them with expanding foam. (Sometimes you can get too many ideas while surfing the net).
And then what about painting them? Did I miss something in a previous post?
Thanks guys!!
John
