Status: offline 		The biggest difference is that it is 4WD unlike the RC10GT or XXX-NT. Its more of a "truck" and not a stadium truck nor a monster truck.

Status: offline 		It balances out great - the weight then the power then the 4ed then the shear stability of it...so i would say that, yeah its a TRUCK but not so much a racing truck...just some grea tfun and some insane speeds. and whats wrong with you snake, leave the flippin' hop-ups for a little bit. Kepp it the way it is. THEN when your too grips with the truck buy hop ups. I'm sorry if you are to grips with it and now are starting to buy Hop-ups, its just that peopel who get a new truck and hop it up STRAIGHT AWAY really get on my nerves. sorry by the way if i have caused any offence.

I want it to be faster i comparison to my Savage with a 2 speed and .25 motor.

The Motorsaver is pretty much a given, as is the fuel filter. The "Racer" tank also makes sense because it is primerless (no leaks) and has its own internal filter.

Those are more safeguards than anything.

I'm going to get a tuned pipe and head (dont think any are available yet) just to run a bit better.

Its quick now, but I havent even leaned it out so I'm sure I'll be happy.

My carb does not open all the way, but I believe thats why the extra servo savers were included. I still have to play with those.

Status: offline 		Been havin fun with my MT2 so far.. but damnit I want the 2 speed. I do a bit too much offroading tho and per HPI they say its not a good idea.

So far I've broken a front and rear steering knuckle/upright. Stupid plastic. I'm just glad they threw in extras in the box

Status: offline 		I'm waiting for my MT2 to arrive from Tower Hobbies as we speak... I had it sent via surface mail though (I'm in Australia and the freight was a killer for air), and I'm still waiting on it since Mid-January... A mate of mine ordered a T-Maxx from Tower about 2 weeks ago and his arrived a few days back!

I'm looking forward to it!

Can someone tell me, what's a motor saver? I'm a n00b so any clues on this one would be good.

It's a brand of air filter for nitro engines. Motor Saver makes their own as well as the ones sold by HPI. Pretty much the best out there.

Status: offline 		Im buying a hpi mt racer that has a .12 O.S. cv-r engine. The seller says this engine is pretty difficult to tune and i am not very experienced. So i am looking at the HPI .18SS pull start engine. I have a .15 FE and it is reliable and easy to tune and thats why i want to get an HPI engine. Do you think this is a good choice? And if i were to sell the O.S. .12 engine, in good condish, how much do you think i could get for it?

I got my Savage first, then the MT2 just recently.

Stock for stock I think its faster than the .21. My Savage currently has a new head, S-25, motorsaver, and pipe and it seems faster than the MT. The Savage also has a lot more torque.

The MT2 is very fast, especially since its only a single speed stock. Low end is not bad for a .15, but it screams on the top end. I cant wait to put a 2 speed in it, it feels like its got a lot left in the top end. HPI recommends not having a 2speed off road for jumping and such, but my Savage takes care of the really bad terrain. The MT2 is good enough for street/dirt lot racing.

It handles like its on rails on the street. On dirt, it turns sharply and quickly. It is easy, howver, to oversteer and spin out in loose dirt. I imagine its just my driving style.

what class can i race the mt2 in at my local track?
how durability is compared to savage if it cartwheels or if a tree jumps in front of it lol?
how will it handle park style grass because that is where it will spend most of it's time?
and how high can i jump it, people say low to med jumps but how high is that?

Status: offline 		Here ya go, savage14. Dunno what you're looking for regarding ground clearance, but I re-did the shocks on advice from a fellow on another forum.

He was right; the oil that came in the shocks from the factory was some really strange stuff that looked like salad oil. I cleaned all of that out and replaced it with 35 weight silicone shock oil. The shocks now rebound like they should. This made the ride height a bit higher as you can see in the second photo.

Conventional wisdom says that the A-arms should be parallel to the ground. Perhaps, but I like the way the truck handles now better than it did before I re-did the shocks. I don't do big jumps, so I dunno exactly what to tell you about that. I can tell you that this is a VERY neat ride, and I like it a bunch. 4WD kicks butt; I should have gotten a 4WD truck long ago. My grandson's RC-10 is still faster than this MT2, but I'm all over him in the turns.

I'm only jumping off an eight-inch-high ramp, so I'm getting just over a foot of "air", landing on grass; and not much of that. Mainly just running around in the yard and street with it; lots of curb-jumping, though.

Drag raced the MT2 against my buddy's Savage today; l got smoked BIG-TIME. Once that second gear kicks in, its all over...
