Well personally i love the THS pipe it gives a great little boost to the engine and has the sweetest little pure to it, and for all you bling freaks out there i dont think anyone can complain with the looks of the THS pipe.

Sorry do not no? I do not think some of then comes with the SS? But you should be able to find out on HPI web site. The parts we are talking about are some of the ones (as I put a lot in it) I put in my MT Racer Kit before I ever put fuel in it. It is not a MT2 but the best of the original MT that came with a lot of the hop ups right out of the box that the stander MT did not. This is the best I could fine for my MT Racer. I would get an 18SS but I have so much in my MT Racer with little run time on it (which I plain on changing shortly) so I am going to stick with it for a while. I have up grade to some MT2 parts. The new gear set others are talking about in this form that seems know one has yet are cheaper.

For those that do not know exactly what I have here is the kit. I put a WHOLE lot more in it. I have over $1000 in it and I got a lot of the parts at a whole lot better deal then list.

Spur gear stripped today, so i was going to buy slipper clutch. Which one is better.

This, [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWC18]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWC18[/link]

or this

[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFYP4&P=Z]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFYP4&P=Z[/link].

The first one is more expensive, so is it better. Also, if anyone see's any U.S army decals for my humvee body, could you post a link. Plus, will the body i selected fit the truck.

MT2 Beater:

Number 1) is for the original MT, won't fit the MT2 unless you do a little mods.
Number 2) is for the MT2.

I'd get Number 2.

Just get this, you don't need the whole clutch:

jbooker82:

I don't know, I just took a chance on the Cuda. I really wanted to get the Charger, but the LHS did not have one.

I think you need to look for the smaller Savage bodies to make them work. The quad cab Dodge is too big, but the car bodies seem to work.

Here is a place to get some of the gears a little cheaper then the tower. As much as $5 a gear cheaper. This is where I got mine.

I'm getting the slipper clutch and removing the two speed, would the nitro racing clutch give any speed, or torque? Here is a link to it:

[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLW03&P=0]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLW03&P=0[/link].

Also, would this clutch: [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFKM7&P=0]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFKM7&P=0[/link], work on the MT2.

Thanks a ton!!!!!

My MT racer came with that clutch and I put one in my Nitro Rush and I like it. It is adjustable to where you can set it to come on at different RPM. The only problem is you have to cut it to do so and once you do that you are stuck with what you have. As far as a 15 tooth clutch bell depends where you run and what type of running you do. For me that is too tall of a gear. Will give you better top end at sacrificing torque and bottom end.

Hey guys, it's good to be back posting again! I am ready to put all the hop ups i bought during the winter on my truck. I have two questions for the O.S. 18 owner; What kind of flywheel and clutch system are you using? And what engine mount did you put on? As a side note, did you guys check out the MT2 SS on the www.hpiracing.com ? [X(] Some pretty nice stuff installed on it. I like the heavy duty diff.

I ordered those gears from tower hobbies. Then i called hpi to see if they would work. They only work with the original MT. They just said that they wont work. Those gears u46 listed are not the mt-2 ss gears. Hpi's part number for the ss gears is 86336.

I think you might want to look at this or either Tower has the listing wrong! The gears I am talking about will work with the MT2 but might not be the ones in the SS but they are heavy duty and will work! Correct me if I am wrong but I have talked to people that put these in their MT2. Scroll down and see what Towers has listen under parts and options for the MT2. The differentials on both the MT and MT2 are the same! Correct me if I am wrong but I do think I am thinking correctly. HPI support is pretty good but they all so told me I could not put the 100cc fuel tank in my MT Racer and if you look in this form I did it.

How did you order these when the listing says they are not in stock yet or is that wrong?

I thought that they would but then i called them to ask. They said that they wouldnt so i returend them so i could get my 45 bucks back. I didnt want to be stuck with them. They say that the dirve cup that goes on the pinion or bevel gear is to small for the shaft that the mt-2 uses. Same thing with the ball differentail that lists under mt-2 parts. The dirve cups for the axles that go to the wheels are to small. The Mt-2 has bigger axles. I have found that getting or trying to find what works between the MT and MT-2 can be quite fun. I am sure you could make the gears work. I am just going to wait until the ones that come with the mt-2 ss come out.

This might be so and it would not be the first time a listing was worng. But I know since untill now they did not make the HD gears others have use these in the MT2. Whis I had both in my hand so I could see. [8D]

You know what else? I just went to HPI’s web site and looked at the number for the stock gear for the MT2 and they have the same number as the stock gear for my MT Racer. They both take an A855. So if the axels are larger the ball cups where they go in to the gear must be the same. Goes to show HPI could be wrong all so? I think they told you that as they new the one gears would work but did not know if the others would!

OK I figured it out! The one gear will work but this one will not unless you change other parts or what I think would be a minor modifications. Drill a hole may be a little more.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTB55&P=Z

The ball cup where the drive shaft goes in that goes to the spur gear or slipper clutch is probably too small for the MT2. I am glade I did all this research as now I see how to put the MT2 slipper clutch in my MT Racer. Jbooker82 you did the right thing to cut down on any hassles. Bottom line in a way we all are right. Or you could look at it like I was wrong. Either way we know now!!!!!!!!!!!
