Rowdy,

No wonder that guy doesn't have any stock, he has every plane ever made in his stock listing! Maybe he's a 'buy to order' kind of guy. Looks like it could be a good source for EasyStars and MiniMags, if he gets them in.

cheers

Yeah .. sure does Andrew ..
Saw he has a Twinstar II on his list. Rang him and he said 'Oh .. do I ..' wasn't even under Multiplex!!
He said he'd check it out and call me back .. no phone call ...

Roj on the other hand Funjets for 89.00 .. in stock tomorrow! May have to put one on hold. Addie says he has them and says oh 120 or maybe 110 I think! Hmmm

Just been down to Addies and picked up the Funjet 88.00 !! He's a good man! (And I was doubting his loyalty to his regular customers !!) Ordered the Eflite Texan as well (yes I know ... it's a sickness ) but it wont be here until November (whew!!)

Life is good!!!

Rowdy mate that's a steal for the funjet!! What motor are you going to chuck in it? I've got one of the Himark 2000's in mine from the EasyStar with a 7x5 and it's quite punchy but ideally one of the Himark 3000kv inrunners would be a screaming hoot.

Anyway i'd feel pretty damn good about that deal, I paid 109 for mine and i thought I did well

I'll look forward to seeing that texan when it comes too

cheers

Rowd

l have been mulling over what plane will be next
l know it will be around a 60 size now that the p40 has proven her looks

thought about a Texan / At6 / harvard ummm whatever else they called it
it is a nice looking plane, l see modelflight has the elec version

but l'm thinking 60 size again

still waiting on answer from work as to if l have the weekend off

here's hoping

Just wondering if anyone's seen any micro style clevises with left and right hand threads for easy adjustment .....or doesn't anyone make them?
I just ordered a pack of dubro clevis .. or kwik-klips as they call them. I wasn't sure if i needed a certain size for the rod i have ..... it says that they are self tapping ... so i assume they will tap for either right or left screws

Thanks for the motor input Andrew [8D] I'm not at all sure yet .. i've done no research .. al I know is I saw one fly at PP on Saturday .. with a whimpy little motor .. didn't take too much notice what it was.. but was really impressed .. and had to have one.

So you run a 2815 - 2000 and a 3S ?? Smallish 3S i'm thinkin 1300 ???

There are some nice one's around Geoff ... I saw bigger models in my hunt .. but I like the size of the Eflite 1370 is a nice size for me .. plus easily detachable wings make transportation a cinch. I really don't want to fly anything bigger than that at the moment I think
Hope the W/E comes through for you. Should have 2 maidens for Sat .. F22 and Hellcat.

Roj still has one of these listed
http://www.greatplanes.com/discontinued/gpma1245.html

or theres the Seagull 1500 wingspan (Doesn't look at good but cheaper!!)

I just realised why VeeAte has glow planes. Geralton is pretty windy - a different kind of heaven for Tam and myself a big sailboarding venue. I reckon a parkflier just wouldn't get much of an outing.

Bleary there are some pretty crazy depron plans around. I saw a huge 2m teradactyl glider. Now I reckon that would shut the magpie's up..........

clovus
Your dead right Clovus. Gero is one of the windiest city's in the southern hemisphere! Not many guys have any planes under .40 size because you only get probably ten chances to fly it a year.
Summer is the worst. Easterly all morning til lunch time then it will drop right off for an hour then screaming southerly's all arvo.

The windsurfer's love this place.

There are a couple of electric planes at our field, but these guys bring glow models along too because of the wind.

Hahaha thanks for the tip rowdy. I will see what I can do. Who knows maybe the trainer might be a good platform to try out electric flight once I have flight mastered.
See if I Can tear the firewall out on takeoff [>:]

Rowdy, it's a very floaty plane you don't need to worry about small batteries. I'm running 3S 2200s and 2500s in mine and it's just about impossible to get it to stall. There's plenty of vids on youtube of people with 5S packs in them doing 160+ km/h level flybys so weight really isn't an issue. Yeah I'm running the 2815 in mine purely because I had one on hand. Ideally the recommended 3000kv motor with a 5.5x4.5 aeronaut speed prop would be the ducks nuts. I'll probably hop mine up eventually.

It's such a fun plane to fly though, you'll love it.

Well I got the tailfeathers glued in. Had to sand a little bit where the horizontal stab fits into the fuse. Just to make it level with the wings.

Control rods are installed into fuzz along with the clevises and control horns.
Landing gear is screwed on.
Tank installed.
Aileron servo mount in the wing is glued in.

Only things left to do are:

Install the servo's (when I can find the screws that hold the horns onto the servo's [] )
Wrap the battery and receiver in foam and install them.
Install the engine onto the mounts.
Fit the switch/charge jack.
And install the battery level indicator and lost model alarm.

Feck. More left to do than I thought. []
Getting there slowly tho.

Mike,

What's the plural of clevis? Clevii? Ultrafly do some neat clevis' (pl) with soft plastic that accepts threaded rod pretty easily. I don't know if you can buy it separately. I used to have a bunch but think they got used in the depron stuff. If I find some spare ones I'll PM you....

With all the talk about scratch building I thought I'd post the one you've all been waiting for.......... build your own Spitfire - CAA legal and only $150 000. Best of all it's an Australian Company. C'mon guys, support Australian businesses. Who'se gunna put their hand up for this one?

http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2007/07/bu...ire_plane.html

Sorry, can't post piccies as we are still on dial up.

Usually 'a pack' would be collective plural (made that up) .......but I'm thinking a 'brace of clevises' would be most correct term. You don't often see them operating in solitary.
I was foolishly thinking that someone would have made right and left hand threaded rod with matching crevises so you could adjust their length as you do with a turn buckle / automotive tie-rod.
I bought some ty1 clevii (TY3141) that are thread and fit/glue to CF Rod .......but still they are not left and right threads for that ease of adjustment.
I just don't understand why....is their some mystical aeronautical outcome that will occur if left hand threads are used.....or is it just these woodduck hadn't thought of it []

(I'm thinking the plural of woodduck is just woodduck )

Clovus, that diy spitfire at least has a genuine looking exhaust on it just like the original ......and having a read of that site they say she sounds the same also.
But the bit that would bother me is the farm ute engine she runs .....and then they supercharge it in some configurations

Who's ever been around an engine when it throws a rod or breaks a crank...nasty nasty it can be. Supercharged motors and motors in general don't blow up under load.....but always let go when you take the throttle off. Usually seize which could make it hard ......so would the oil on the screen
Too cynical about automotive engines to put one in a plane.....especially when I can't see where they have drysumped this thing so it would be no good to bleary at all
