Nice one Rowdy,
I reckon you should leave the TM in your fleet OZ, just for similar occasions.
That's the great thing about this hobby, its got to offer so many things for everyone, screaming around like a lunatic, puttering along just enjoying the magic of flight or helping melt the stresses from modern life by gluing bits of balsa together.

Thats whats it's all about isn't it. Half pissed .. and a bit stressed ... I floated the Slowy around myself and said to my boy " Gee I remember when fkyinf was tough " .. he asked "when"
I said ... "when i started with the firebird freedom "
It is a magic thing huh ....

Andrew, you know you want the big bird!!!
I like the look of the Mentor, seems like the kind of plane that you could go to a club with and not be sneered at because its electric.
Rowdy, sounds like your having fun with the slowy... so that's a slow stick thing yeah?
Seriously thinking about buying a floaty slow 3D type plane soon.....as Clovus said so well, there's something for everyone. Im looking forward to trying a few different types of flying and plane styles.
I have to buy my ticket to depron building town real soon, whip me up a jet like that funky new machine EDF has just got a hold of!
Sweet jet man!

Andrew - what about the EasyCub?? A nice 200W motor, 2200 2S (yes, 2S), and flights of 15+ minutes and glides like the EZ* with take offs and slow landings - plus plenty of space for FCOne2's - and only £57 here Au$??? And its an easy MPX Build and looks good too at 57in. w/span.

Bleary ...excellent thought mate. May have to try that
Tam .. good to see ya back on deck pal. How the hell you get a big bird to fly at all on a 2S is beyond me mate !!! But for 15 minutes ? Holy carp !!! Sensational !
Bud, yeah the Slowy is a Slow Stick .. the big one .. really large wing area .. but pretty light. Fly's best in light wind, but can handle intself OK in a bit more than that. Great fun.
Cheers blokes.

Best slow model I ever had was the GWS tigermoth, that was awesome fun, ran a 2040 in a gearbox on 2 cells and she floated round like a slow stick Great for dusk with the bright yellow, could fly round yourself or do figure 8's in the space of about 30 metres...

WhisselB - year, the TMoth is a great bird, but I'm on my 2nd smaller version, the Pico TMoth. Solid as a rock in flight and stronger than you think. On an EMax 2805 and 800 2S it gets 15 minute flights and loops at a glance.....onlookers just love it.
Rowdy - when you said to Bleary 'I'll have to try that'.....did you mean 4S or the tranny 'priscilla, queen of the desert' thing?? Stick to flying in normal clothes mate!!!![8D] - yearh, I'm back[>:][>:][>:][>:]

HOT off the press!!!! A new Parkzone bird to rival MPX EZ*???? The Radian.
http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk...d.asp?id=26880
My thoughts: It's Big. Its expensive compared to other leccy gliders, but it looks the 'business'....and 2.4 Spectrum as well. Brushless and only 1350 3S lipo??? We shall see.

RE: Australian Barbeque and Beers Part V
Gday crew.
Just stopped in to say gday and catch up with what all you mad buggers have been buying.
Had a tooth pulled yesterday so a bit under the weather. They gave me enough drugs to open my own pharmacy haha.
2 hours of a dentist leaning over me with various tools you would normally find in your toolbox and a nasty big metal syringe with a bent needle and it was all over. When your dentist stands up with a pair of needle nose pliers in his hand you know its going to be a long day.
They had a TV hung from the ceiling, but I was too interested in the lovely nurse to take much notice of what was on. I swear they employ pretty nurses to distract you from the pain. It works quite well til the pliers come out.

Tam, good to see you're back chief. No where in AUS actually sells the Cub, i'd certainly look into it if they did though. Great looking bird. They've actually already got the Radian in stores here, only draw back is the lack of a 4th channel but with a 2 meter wingspan ailerons may not be all that necessary anyway. What a monster[X(]

And the other pretty one behind the front desk is there to distract you while you pay the bill.
$385 would have hurt a fair bit more without the girl with the awesome smile telling me the total. She could have asked for my pin number and I reckon I would have spat it out before I realised what was happening.
Like Andrew said I am almost looking forward to going back in January.
Got some good news to go along with the bad news of my tooth today.
Got offered a job I went for a couple of weeks ago. $140k a year + benefits. So get flown to Perth on the 25th of this month for the training seminar and to see if I want the position. Of course I do!
That will mean a hell of a lot more planes in my hangar.

RE: Australian Barbeque and Beers Part V
The job is doing inspections on state housing homes.
Not there to see if the place is tidy etc. Just to check for things like holes in walls, light fittings are working, structural damage etc.
In and out of the house in around 20 minutes. Any agro from the tennants or anything that is a health risk and I walk away and someone else does the rest.
House plans are all provided on a toughbook (kinda like a rubber laptop) and I walk from room to room ticking off light fittings etc. Any damage and I write it in and send it off.
Dealing with the lower income spectrum of society, but I used to do repairs to Homeswest houses so nothing I cant handle. Not a job many people would take on hence the pay rate.
Big enough and ugly enough to handle most situations so shouldnt have a problem.
For that sort of money I reckon I can handle most things.

Nice one Geoff.
One of the guys at the club had two of them. Both put into the ground through dumb thumbs.
Let one get too far away and lost orientation of it. The second one he had the motor cut out and tried to get it back to the runway while too low. Should have just landed it in the field.
They are a nice looking plane and well worth the $$ from what I saw.
Covering didnt like the sun, but I think thats a problem with any black covering. He didnt shrink his with the iron or heat gun either which would have solved it.
Awesome looking plane. Considering one myself to do my Silver and Gold wings on.
They had an extra too I think at a similar price.
