I know I'm biased but from what I've seen at the track the H8 is a much better buggy. But in the end it really depends 90% on driver's skill, about 8% setup, then the last 2% is the buggy.

If you can afford the Hyper 8 then go for it, if not the Turmoil is an okay buggy.

I dunno about those percents. The better the driver is the more dependent he is on having a buggy that will let him drive faster. If you can push the buggy to its limits and not let the buggy push you I'd say setup is more like 15-20%. I'm sure that either buggy can run pretty much the same lap times and each will have its own handling characteristics. The turmoil has finished in some very high ranks in pro events (I think its gotten 2nd once... if not I know it got 3rd). So you know the turmoils fast. Of course so has the hyper 8 so you can't go wrong with either buggy.

Yeah I think my percentages are a bit off now that I think lol.

I guess more like 60% skill, 25% setup, 15% car?

Yeah that sounds better .

Tazer has a good point to. Unless you just buy online then how good is your local support for parts? I'd go for whatever buggy has better support in your area because both are deffinate winners.

I have a turmoil and I like it. I like what I've seen about the hyper 8 too, except for the aluminum dogbones(I don't think they would be as reliable as steel, however they are lighter). Overall, unlike MTs, all buggies are pretty much made the same way(some are better than others), and it does depend alot on the driver. So, as was already stated, pick a buggy with good parts support!

I bought my Hyper 8 a couple weeks ago and finally got to race it yesterday. I raced in our sportsman class and won. I ran against a mayhem, MP777, and a Hyper 8. Beat second place by about 4 seconds. I thought it was great since I only had two tanks of fuel for practice time.

Still need to get one or two things to get my Hyper 8 running but I sure do like the way it is made and seems to be made very well. Should have mine on the track in a couple of weeks. I picked mine up for $374 including shipping new in the factory sealed box with full warranty.

I'm not sure what race this was (couldn't find it on neo buggy) but this is a quote from another thread. Two turmoils in the top 10 of an A-Main at a pro event.
