RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread
Hey guys, I'm new to the 1/8 scale buggy and nitro in general. As such I have a couple of questions I was hoping some of you with more knowledge than myself might be able to help me with. First off the more Violator specific problems. I bought my Violator used on ebay and it didn't come with a clutch assembly so I had to by one at my LHS. When I finaly got it all assembled and mounted the engine, I couldn't get it to fit without it rubbing the rear brake disks. I can get it to fit directly between the two disks but it still rubs, especially with brake applied. Do I need a special flywheel or am I doing something wrong? I ordered the part number listed in the manual but it still is too big. My other question was regarding the dogbones. If I trim down the the a-arms to make it ROAR legal do I need to buy new ones or will the ones on there still fit? Any help you guys can give would be appreciated, I've only got about a million more questions!

My Violator is finally ROAR legal (except for the engine). I just have to get a new e-clip since I lost my last one during the mod. The eingine will be ROAR legal once I get the OS .28 for my truggy my V-spec is going into the Violator. I can't wiat to go and see how it handles now with the narrower track.

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread
just got a violator 9.5 about a month ago as a first rc car. after breaking in the motor, took it out for the first time, it ran away from me and went full throttle into a tree! not one spot of damage to it! (the tree wasn't so lucky) since then it ran away on me 3 more times. i stopped at the hobby shop, there were two other people complaining of the same thing! the guy said you can try different crystals in the radio but basicly said the stock ofna radio is garbage. i picked up a spectrum fm with the fail safe and haven't had a problem since.
i am very impressed how well the violator has held up because i'm not nice to anything i own with a motor on it. muffler fell off once but other than that, no problems

Glad to see there is a new Violator in the mix. The radio was the first thing that I replaced on mine as well, as soon as I got it last year and saw the stock set-up I knew it was garbage, even for an RTR. Right now I have an Airtronics Mx-3 FM but I am getting a Futaba 3pks w/spektrum for it.
Lets see some pics of your new Violator.

No pics as of yet
Anyone know where I can find a UNPAINTED body for the violator 9.5 or a different body? I checked Ofna's web site, it's either flags or flames, none unpainted.

Here is the clear body for the 9.5 pro, it is the same body that the violator uses.

Awsome!! Thanks for the link. I need to lose the body that came with mine so my buds will quit calling me the purple flamer! (although I'm sure it's still gonna stick for a while)

change the diff oil, it helps, I run a 5-7-3 combo and it works pretty well, gets rid of a lot of the massive push that the force .32 has.

Hey all.
I am trading my Savage for a Violator 9.5 with the Force .26. I hear lots of people talking about the newer ones, but what about the one with the .26 in it? Havn't heard much on it. Any have one with the .26 in it?

They are pretty much the same buggy, just a different motor, .32 now instead of the .26. Other than that not much has changed.

YAY!!!!!!! I fianally got my Violator 9.5! Traded my Savage straight accorss for it. This Violator is AWESOME! I will rippin the soil up till I hit a boulder! I broke a turnbuckle, and the other half of the turnbuckle is stuck inside the upper arm, can't take it out, so I had to get both turnbuckle and upper arm

RE: Official 9.5 Violator Thread
Yeah, not hitting boulders usually helps
The 9.5 pro turnbuckles are the shiny stainless ones, the regular violator turnbuckles are the black ones (these are weak). I had a turnbuckle problem a while back but once I switched to the hardened steel ones I have not had any problems.
