I've a HK Quanum Aquaholic rc boat and I've gone threw 2 flex drives , I'm running 3&4s batteries , the problem is the end that goes into Coupler comes unraveled , any idea's how to solve this ? I've tried soldering the one end but can't get the solder to stick even after cleaning it .Hears some pictures of what happening .

20+ people had looked and no one has any ideas how to solve this problem , go figure .

Pics are useless, try new ones that are focused....

What type of coupler is it? If it uses grub screws then change it out for a collet, grub screws damage the flex shaft.

If you can't get solder to stick then the a. the parts aren't clean or b. you have your temperature wrong.

It got the hex set screws but i'm going to change it to this http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-81505 this is the right size but a little longer , i also have a friend making me 5 spacers out of 1/16" flat aluminium stock witch should give me more room for new coupler , the motor shaft is 5mm and the flex drive is 3mm

Update , Put in the new coupler with spacers , looks good to me , now have to wait for new flex shafts to come in . hears some pictures of what i did so far .

Update thing are going GREAT with this setup have about 25 runs on it this yr and had no more problems with flex shaft . where last yr i went through 2 shafts by now after this many runs and it take me about 12 min, to grease flex shaft from start to finish .
