why you cut a hole into the rcbox ?
[sm=confused_smile.gif]
the wires have to be between the 2 rubberseals from the rcbox [sm=idea.gif]
thats the only way to keep the box "waterproof"

RE: MCD Race Runner
I guess I could have sandwhiched them in between the top of the battery box but it still would not have been completely waterproof. I would have to cut either way..I was going to add some black silicone and finish the hole up. It looked really good though and to charge is very easy.. That was my whole point of having the cable come out of the battery box. You can also see the wires are all hidden underneath the servo tray.

RE: MCD Race Runner
I have been reading this post & you guys have me really thinking about getting a race runner, but can these cars really race head to head against a 1/8 scale buggy on a 1/8 track?
do any of you guys have any video's footage now?

The Race Runners are set up nicely. The 4 wheel drive is awesome and you can put FG wheels and tires on it. Take a look at these photos.

RE: MCD Race Runner
Well, my MCD has had it's first real "breakage".
After a day of hard running and big jumps, one of the front bulkheads/suspension mounts decided it was time to bail.
The funny part is that I didn't even notice untill I got home and was cleaning!

Yup.
8 Months, and the only breakages have been one rear wing, and now this. To be honest, both happened while driving hard in quite cold weather, so that likely had some effect.
Regardless, 2 broken parts in 8 months still makes this one of the toughest, most reliable vehicles I've owned.
MCD............I love it!

I've had mine for about seven months and the only things I've managed to break is one of my wing holders, and I just noticed a break on my right chasis mud gaurd where the screws are attatched.... MCDs are so well built, when things break, you don't know it until you are cleaning them.... OOOPs, broke my Jetpro too but that has nothing to do with MCD...

I run my car in EVERYTHING, and as you can see from some of the pics above, it gets VERY dirty. Air filter is almost always spotless everytime I check!

RE: MCD Race Runner
Hey Bribeguy.. you mentioned the firehammer Filter, that is a dual stage foam and so on..I have a firehammer filer set up but I seem to have lost the proper mounting piece so I run with the Stock MCD one for now. Do you not think the MCD filter is plenty good? Just curious more than anything. Its a dual stage, and you could oil one of them, also has 2 screens. And not just that, but the intake is set DOWN inside the truck unlike other models where the filter hangs out the back. I wasnt to concerned about rushing out and changing to a different filter as I thought the Stock one would be fine, but now that I dont believe I have seen a picture with the stock one still in , I am rethinking things..lol...
Oh im also running the MT, so I have the Lexan side guards...Anyhow, I was just curious what you boys thought about the stock MCD filter.

RE: MCD Race Runner
The MCD filter is supposed to be quite good from what I understand, but I've head it can definatley benifit from a pre-filter as well.
I'm not saying the Duratrax is the best filter out there...............just that it can't be beat for the price. When I picked up my MCD, it was gonna be $40+ for a decent filter (MCD, FG, or aftermarket), so I opted for the Firehammer one on the basis of price. So far, it's been awsome.
If the MCD one works, I'd just stick with it.

RE: MCD Race Runner
Well I guess the easy solution is for me to come to E-Town sometime then. Seeing as I was born and raised in Edmonton (Millwooods), I have no fear of Calgary's evil rival.

Alittle Pricey At $220, specially since I dont see ANY flex in the Stock one.
I have been really thinking about the alloy Servo tray, watching the stock plastic one flex alot when I engage any of the 3 servos.
