Hi Jeff
do you have up elevator mixed with flaps? Manual calls for it but everything else that I am flying needs down when going to full flaps. I would appreciate your help.
thanks

Hi Mike
thank you. This makes sense and it is about what I was setting up. Where did you calculate the 40 degree from? Center line of the wing or the top skin? I have 39mm for takeoff flap at the Airlons side and 90mm at full flap. Does this seem right?

One more question Mike, does your nose gear slam open hard? Mine seem to wait and then open hard. I also had a problem with the sequencer. It seems as the gear and door connections are reversed inside, spent hours and would not work right. Finally connected gear to door port and doors to gear ports and works fine. I think it will be okay as both valves are the same and work the same.

I have the same problem but it is my right main that always lags behind the others then slams down hard. Tried everything.
Learned to live with it. About the sequencer? As long as it works. Your gonna love this jet. Mine required no trim at all. I am flying tomorrow.
I will measure flaps when I install the wings and get back to you. Mike

Hi Guys,
Been flying mine for a wee while now, and had to chip in regarding the elevator trim with flaps. This model needs up elevator trim with flaps (nose up trim). I discovered that on my maiden flight, when I had pre programmed down mix, like all my other models. I'm not sure if this is c of g sensitive, but the model needs up elevator (nose up) with flaps deployed. Just a word of caution, thats all.
Hi Mike, you mentioned down elevator mix. That seems completely the opposite to mine. Can you confirm that you've actually got down elevator (nose down) mix with flaps? Where is your c of g at? per the manual?

sounds like a good idea. I think it depends on how you like the model to feel when deploying the flaps. I might try mine
using the neutral position today. who knows? Might like it better. I do know this is a sweet flying airplane. No bad habits at all.

Sorry to be late to the conversion. I have my trim settings for the elevator using Flight modes on the flap switch. I flew with not extra trim for flaps once I move the switch I set the trim and the flight mode saves it for that position. I love that feature. I learn that from a friend after the first couple of flights.
It really was because I could not get a bank out my flaps when they were down. I work my butt off on the setting of the angles and adjustments. Couldn't get it to stop turning hard left. Finally use the trim feature for each mode and bingo my problem solved.
I trimmed it with gear down so when I take off with flaps the trim is set. We I do slow passes with out gear down I will hold a little bit of up elevator. The Gyro also helps in the transition because I have my flaps deployment set for 2 seconds.
I have down and lock so I can not comment on the gear.

got mine istalled as well but I had to replase the cilinder air conect to a 90* angle as they were vertical and the air line was to close to the pipe, I was worried that the heat could burn the line, will see how it handle on flight, I'll maiden mine this comin weekend, K210 for power...

Whell, I finally maiden my SG Hawk last weekend, plane is superb, handling is excelent, and very precise, very smooth and scale flying, power comes from a KT210, Servos 8711, pwr box Cockpit SRS etc..
Had my full Flaps at 70mm and T/o Flaps at 30, I dont think more tan that is nesesary, the rest as per the manual, also the CG.
After winter goes away it will be painted as the Red Arrows 50th Fin, I got the paint and decals from Ralle, my scale cabin will arrive to Chile next week and my Tailor made pilot will see the sky when it arrives.
The only thing that is messing me around are the nose gear doors, the slam pretty hard when the open, that caused the door hinges to break as they are really week, any one has instaled another type of hinges there? if so can you chare a picture?
Here are some pictures of mine, hope you like...

Congratulation on the maiden. Looks like you built a winner. I am sure it will look better once you get it all painted and trimmed out. If you or any one is interested I have the Taylor Made paint mask for the 50th Reds paint scheme. I bought before I realized I could get the rudder from the factory with the paint job on it.
I would take 110.00 shipped. If someone is doing there own paint like you.
Happy flying
Jeff

Hi, what I did is that I used smaller diameter tubes for the doors and larger diameter tubes for the gear and they are connected to the same two large tanks. I have not flown mine but it is testing good. I guess we will see.
