My falcon weighs in at 12.5 pounds, opted for fixed gear instead of retracts to keep the weight down. Running a Wren 70 with 15.5 pounds of thrust, vertical is nice , top speed dunno [sm=confused.gif] but it is able to fly at smaller fields.

Anyone have links to the better canopy and the fuel tank. I'd like to finish the build on mine this winter with these things

I don't have a canopy but I can cut a set of formers on my laser that will take a 1.5 liter Fiji water bottle. Just knock out a few of the old ones and put the new ones in. Have to figure what the cost will be........

Let me know via PM.....I already took the old formers out a long time ago. I'm most likely going to fiberglass the wings also as my winter project.

sweetpea01, think I met to you at JOW. I was the one with the Falcon. I had the motor set at 145,000 rpm then. Now flying at the 160,00 rpm.

Yep, we met. Saw yours fly very well.

I need a couple things to get mine going. I plan to totally redo mine to a military type scheme just because. It will get my Rabbit unless I find a good used superbee that I can actually afford.

Military colors would be cool. But do not forget to put the M after the V. VMFA

Like this?

I had to repair my smaller Bobcat which involved recovering the wings & filling in the holes in the tailplane.

I recovered the wings in Sig Koverall, the booms/tail in brown paper applied with PVA. This provided a good
base for car primer & enamel paint. I covered the underside of the tailplane in aluminium tape. - John.

Thanks Woketman, it was fun to do in a different colour scheme.

This take off pic is probably a bit clearer. - John.

Sweetpea if you read back threw the threads Noray has an aftermarket canopy which is far better that the thin cheap stock one. And if you read back you can also get fiberglass conformal tanks for the Falcon. The main tank is 85oz and if you want he make 2 small wing tanks. I have the new canopy and the 85oz main fiberglass tank and love them both. I have the 2 smaller wing tanks but have no put them in since I don't need the extra flight time. May put them in over the winter as oil for smoke.

The thread was tooo long for me to read back but I got the hook up for the canopy...Thanks

I am thinking about the wing tanks for smoke or maybe a centerline instead.

I like that German scheme. I hadn't thought too much yet on the exact one, but I was thinking of playing with flite metal or alum paint for it.

Cool, another twin edf Falcon 120. Here are a couple of pics of mine and a youtube link to some video
This one has twin HET 9305 fans, each putting out about 9lbs of thrust at about 3.5kw. Top speed aprox 180mph.
My landings are better now.

Good luck with your flight.

Interesting test bed for a good size A10 Have you seen the CGRC Jets one its much smaller than a Milbo and is designed for EDF or Turbine.

So here it is - the first and a bit of the second flight of Andy's Falcon powered by twin lander 90mm fan units running on 2 5000mah 6 s packs.
First flight went perfect - 2nd was a little more exciting when Nigel tested exactly how long the battery lasts . the answer is somewhere between four and half and five minutes....

FALCON 120, twin lander 90 edf, maiden flight was very impressive, those motors sound really nice. Big thanks to Garry up in Newcastle at BRC HOBBIES for supplying the motors, running gear and battery setup (thanks pet).
The running gear for anyone interested is, Two seperate motor setups, each 90mm lander has a 100amp pentium-100-hv motor speed controller and a 5000 6s battery pack.
The speed controllers are y leaded into the rx, the rx has two 6volt nim batteries running through an SM services backer monitor.
The retract system is Air power airup, air down with home made trailing link legs.
Thanks to nigel hill for test flying and keeping cooool on the second flight when we had a power cut after 4 minutes.
More development to come with a few tweaks to the motor programming set up.
Must take a battery management course to avoid all the lights going out again.
cheers, SNIPERSHOT

Just 50% more amps/watts or 50% more RPM as well? Make sure you are getting something in return for the increased consumption.

I still have tanks if anyone wants them. They are posted in the clasified section under jets.

These 4 are going out in the mail today.

The owners are happy with them.
