RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets
Hi Ian,
From my enquires on the new A-10, the weight should be about 19kgs dry (without any ordanance) and with small turbines like 2 x Wren Super Sports. I have to made contacts to get one on order, but have not had a reply from the factory as jet, but I am hopefull the wait will not be too long.
Cheers,
Davie

I am in the process of building the 4th gen A-10 so I can not say what the RTF weight will be. I do think that with the changes that Mibojets has made inside the fuselage and on the new turbine pods will save weight. P70s for scale flying ,P120s should fit . I will be using AMT180s with electric start.

Seem to remember that Roger was flying his current Hawg with twin Peggy's which are larger diameter than a P-120, so P-120's should fit no problemo......Rick Broussard has twin 120SE's in his new Hawg.....with that kind of power, emergency single engine ops should be more friendly, especially with the big twin rudders to handle the yaw.....

A classic example of how well Billy flies his hog on one engine was at Speedworld recently. I was spotting for Matt at the time, and Matt had just done his gear pass and announced "Landing" ; Billy pipes up with "Huh - I lost one engine." Matt offers to abort his landing to let Billy come right in, but Billy just says "No problems Matt - go ahead. I'll just fly around until you are done. Let me know when you are clear.", and he proceeds to fly around like nothing had happened at all and then nochalantly brings her in for yet another greaser of a landing.

Joe,
Are you planning to have this done in time for CA Jets? I hope!
I was planning to have mine done, but that's kinda slipped. Too busy at work.
I want to see two Hawgs in the air together!

Doesn't suprise me at all. Remember, the one in my avitar made a complete circuit of the field at Spook Hill on one Dynamax/.91. Around 53 pounds with the remaining fuel on board.
Six turbines?? Should sound incredible!!!

You are DA MAN! Echelon formation.
You even gave that third pilot "PCC" ( Politically Correct Coloring) Talk about scale accuracy!

David, my A10 just showed up today. Quick question .... how did you set up your throttles? Separate channels mixed?

Keith,
I asked Billy and he has his two P120s on one channel. While we're at it I figured out how I was going to setup my new 12x:
Channels:
T ECU 1 and 2
E Elevator (matchbox)
A Ailerons (matchbox)
R Nosegear
G Gear and brakes (mix)
AU1 Flaps Starboard (matchbox)
AU2 Rudders (matchbox)
AU3 Canopy (sequencer)
AU4 Flaps Port (matchbox)
AU5 Ordinance Release Stations 1 through 3
AU6 Ordinance Release Stations 4 through 6
AU7 Ordinance Release Stations 7 through 9

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets
Thanks guys.
I spent a couple of hours over the weekend inventorying the parts in the kit.... what a bunch of fun this one is going to be.
I spent some time talking to Joe Grice (nice guy) and I am considering a pair of super eagles in mine.

Did you see the G10 (fibreply) parts for the slats from my earlier post? Any way you can help me out?

Well Rog, the kit is so prefabricated that it's more like putting together a plastic model. There must be (counting the bombs/pylons/details) something like 500 moulded parts!
I've got the wings entirely done (most of that work done by Billy), The tanks mounted, gear and doors installed, access doors cut (with all the rc--air, rc batt, ecu batt, fuel, propane, edt, etc accessable through the access panels). I'm working on the operating canopy, then it will be on to mounting all the engine components. PAINT will come next and then final rigging.
I've probably got about 3 months to go, but I'd hate to be taking a break from Tiger winning the British Open and going out to the garage to finish my Hawg and...I've got no slat parts!
BTW I found those pipes!
Thanks,
Joe

I'll have my A-10 at FL Jets. Look me up at the Georgia Jets tent.
