RE: Who thinks Habus are over rated and boring?
I like the habu also for what most others say - you can take it out, slap a battery in it, and try all sorts of crazy stuff. I like practicing low inverted passes with mine. Heck, much more practical doing that then with an expensive turbine jet.
Then again, I like edfs. I have seen some jet guys thumb their nose at them, but I think they have their place. It always easier to learn flying an edf and moving to a larger airframe IMO. All my small EDFs happen to fly just like their larger counterparts (particularly military models). I figure getting some real stick time on a cheaper edf is a good way to learn the basic flight characteristics before tackling a large expensive version.
Anyway, I am debating putting retracts in my habu but I like the stock weight. The static gear stinks but then again it is rock solid on those bad landings.
Does anyone else's habu bounce 10 ft in the air unless you grease the landing?

I do not own one (yet) but have flown them a few times.
Great plane to fly, good fun for a good price.
If i was going to buy an electric, Habu is the one i would get.
My 2 cents [8D]

Thanks for asking, people really love their Habus, will have to get me one:-)

No .... this is quite my opinion too.
not that Habu´s or any other EDF are bad at all. It is just about the plain fact that flying turbine jets is uncomparable to anything else. (r/c related, of course LOL)

Anything can get boring if you do it by yourself or don't push it to the max.

Please don´t take me wrong! Foamie EDF´s are nice, but there is always that inner voice that keeps saying "seize the day and go fly the best you have on the hangar.. flying weekends are counted for us all!"
By the way, congrats on today´s game.. Well deserved victory for Argentina and happy to see Maradona making a spectacle by himself.. that guy is larger than life.

I like my Habu. Its a lot of fun for evenings when I dinbt have enough time to drag out my other gear & aircraft. But the most fun was flying in a group of them.
People are saying the plane is $400 - but really, thats for the battery, charger, receiver and servos and fan and motor. The plane itself is quite cheap.
At our fun fly a few weeks ago, we had a limbo pole set up about 48" off the ground, maybe 10' wide. I made repeated passes under it with my Habu before slamming one of the 3/4" hardwood poles Ripped off the fin, broke the nose and damaged one wing. A little CA, filler and tape and it was back in the air the day following.
Habu combat is fun... you should try it

RE: Who thinks Habus are over rated and boring?
Can you seriously justify spending FOUR HUNDRED dollars for a plane that is just "fun" ?!?!?
It is just not worth it! If I want something "fun" I would go to Nitroplanes and get a similar model for a quarter of the price, and brushless and Lipo RTF. These fly just as well, and are fun too - or I could spend the same money on a balsa model that will last longer.
I am amazed that this model has so much support - I laughed for hours when I first saw the price. I couldn't believe it.
Thanks, (yes it was kind of a rant...)

I looked at a Habu.. and decided to go with one of these instead...
Now just have to comlpete the build and decide on a custom paint scheme..
70mm fan putting out 2.2kg on 5s..

If you can show me a plane, that comes with all servos, edf unit and motor, 60 A esc, a spectrum receiver, and a battery pack and charger - for 1/4 the price ($100 US) then PLEASE let me know, I will buy a half dozen of them.
And, if I hit the limbo pole with my Balsa/FG EDF it would be in a million pieces, not flying the next day.
Like so many have said - it is what it is, a simple but decent flying plane, that comes RTF and takes minutes to set up.
