BEARBYSR what are the zipties on the motor for
They protect the top of the head from gettin scratched up when I flip over. I use them on all my nitro motors. It's a cheap way to add some protection, I have seen fuel line used also.

Here are couple pics of my newer project vader

Wow, never heard of that before. I am not sure how that would happen. I would think that the gears would strip out way before the gear would actually shear from the bell. The whole thing should spin as one, it almost sounds like a bad casting(I believe the stock bells are castings and not machined, but could be wrong).

Yeah thats why im looking for one stronger than the stock one, everytime i use my evader with the os in it that happens. Everything seems to be setup right but i just cant figure it out. and i have stripped a couple of them too.

BEARBYSR how well does the Evader run with those tires on the front? Does it still turn well and do you go through alot of steering servos

My truck turns fine but it is top heavy with the bigger tires so it does like to roll when I hit turns to fast. The Moabs give me about 1/2 more ground clearence then stock tires which is deff. a plus for bashin. As far as servo's, I put on a Fatuba s3305 mg servo shortly after I got the truck(stripped out the stock servo in like 2 weeks after getting the truck) and have not had a problem since. I now run the 3305 on all my rc's and love them. I am runnin HPI firestorm tires on my other vader(silver chassi) and they work well on all terrains, especially packed dirt track.

ok guys, i riped the 2 trucks apart and test fitted the 3.3 in the evader now every thing seems like it would work fine i just have to maybe drill some new holes for the engine mounts and abrace for the throttle linkage rotating arm. the big problem i have is the gear mesh between the spur and the cltch bell the teeth are to small for the 3.3.i was wondering if you guys had any ideas about what can be done about this heres a couple pics. can i get a diff spur gear and mod it? i dont know to much about gearing so any help would be appriceated thanks

did you ever get this engine to fit

i figured out how to put it in but i decided to get a savage 4.6 instead of putting a big block in my revo. so now i dont have a 3.3 for it...but that doesnt mean the project isnt over lol. ill just have to look for another 3.3 when my wife lets me spend more money lol i just dropped 800 bucks on my savage and some other stuff, so it might be awhile lol

The evader is decent, only downside in my opinion is that if you tune it by factory specs it wears out early well the engine anyway

aside from that the only real problem ive had is that the spur gear is plastic but you can order an aluminum one off ebay

I honestly dont think so i run mine into stuff all the time, so far ive only broken one of my controll arms and that was because i ran full speed into the corner of a porch. Wreck a jato at 25 mph and i promise you its gonna break too. as far as upgrades id get metal gears, metal geared servos, and the os 18

You get what you pay for. For $100 its a decent nitro truck. Easy to fix. But you will go through spur gears and diff gears, so stock up. The durability isn't nearly as good compared to spending $400 for Revo or a MGT or a decent truggy. However, they are more expensive and more complicated, and more difficult to work on.
