Engine: YS 63 FZ-S
Prop: 13x7 Graupner G-Sonic
Servos: Futaba S3151 for ailerons, S9252 elevator, JR DS368 rudder, Blue Bird BMS-380MG for throttle.
Receiver: Futaba R148DP
Battery: 4x GP AAA Nimh 950mAh

All up weight: ~2200g (!) with empty tank, though I have to add about 10 grams to tail to get the CG correct

Wow 2.2 kg is light, My oxalys comes in at 2.5kg. I am using futaba 3050 digitals all round, ys63, soft mount, and 2100mah li-po with regulator. I also used an MK bell crank on elevators and I have achieved zero slop!

I didn't as the bell crank seemed to fix quite well just behind the rear former which is lite ply. I did have to shave off a bit from the bell crank to make it a little smaller in width to fit.
I hope this helps.
I maidened the oxalys today and it flies on rails for the size of the plane. YS 63 and 12x7 prop is plenty, It pulls vertical unlimited. KE is viceless and needs no mixing and rolls are very axial with no differential dialled in. Good plane!!

YS 63 has 8.0mm diameter 1.0mm pitch shaft. Tru Turn -814A is what most people use.
Dave Brown has following two prop nuts available. They are not double jam nuts like Tru Turn.

By the way, the suggestion of Oxalys 60/90 still stays undecided. Price range was $300 ~ $350
It is due to large box (high shipping cost), low demand. Also, I am sure there is a licensing for the design etc.
I may send an E-mail to Kyosho Japan regarding the larger Oxalys if there is a large demand. Should I create a Poll?
Hope this helps,

PATTERNFLYER:
I am sure that ir would be a good option the 90 size, if they release a 60/90 size for use with a YS 1.10 or an OS 90 two stroke would be PERFECT!!
I knoe alot of people would buy one including me!!
Thanks!!
P.D. By the way...Great Planes already release the Venus II for a 90 size engine and i am sure alot of people is going to buy it!

Hi Guys,
I decided not to build my Oaxlys .50. I will sell the NIB plane and NIB YS .63 (new version) for $450. You can email me at [email protected] if interested.
Thanks,
Jim W.

Oxalys 50 with Hyperion Brushless drive.
Power should be comparable to YS63, can anyone confirm this? I'm thinking of building an E-version too...

RE: New Kyosho Oxalys 50 ?
I just finished mine last month....Flu for 10 flight....this plane fly so good and straght through from the box.. very easy to tracking while less windy like 10-13kmph
Well, mine using ys63s with full sets of hatori short pipe.....they fits beautifully.....I wouldn't worry about extra weight at all cus it give you more than enought of power already specially on verticle clamb.....wow it was unlimited pull!!!! I use 13x7 APC with some weight on the tail for CG around 25g

RE: New Kyosho Oxalys 50 ?
It should fly ok on a 46 fx, the plane is about the same size as the old majestic and that was designed around 36-46 2 strokes. The cg will be ok as the lighter engine up front will help with the positioning of the battery or adding weight to the tail. But don't expect unlimited vertical climbs.
I had a os 52 4 stroke in my old majestic (simular size and weight) and had to fly it on full throttle the whole time. It just didn't have enough power to pull large loops etc.
You could try adding a pipe to get more power if you find it is not enough with the 46. Personally I can't think of a better set up than the ys63 for this plane.

el Barto,
I am not sure which version of Webra 61 you are talking about. However, Webra 61F weighes 19.4oz (562 grams) compared to 17 oz of YS 63S. If you are going to use stock muffler of Webra, I would say not a good idea because of couple of reasons.
You will be adding more weight in the tail compared to YS 63 because of additional weight in the nose.
If you go with tuned pipe, you will either side mount the engine with long header or invert mount it with wrap around header. Then, modify the dummy bellypan to accomodate the tuned pipe. Depending on the tuned pipe, you may add more weight than the stock or get very close to the stock Webra w/ muffler setup. No advantage here other than a little more power?
The Webra is a very good engine, but not really sure if it is worth adding more weight and may complicate the setup a little.
Why not use a Saito 82, or OS 50SX?
The best engine for Oxalys 50 is YS 63 as it was designed around it altough Prototype was flown with OS 70 Ultimate.
Hope this helps.
