Forget about these shocks, they are cheap junk. They were already on the car when I got it, and I will be replacing them with good ones.

Today my son and I will be drag racing at the Houston Autorama (carshow). I will be running my rs4-3 with new porting job to my motor. My son will run his Sprint 2 flux and his nitro Savage.
Hopefully I will be able to upload pictures when I'm there to keep you guys posted.

My parts from Hongkong arrived today!
Thankfully they were all the correct parts, and everything fit perfectly. I replaced all the drilled out and damaged GPM aluminum parts, updated all 6 dogbones to GPMCVD shafts, and replaced the ill fitting metal turnbuckles with GPM steel ones.
Still need many parts, throttle linkage is on its way, a better exhaust system, and a set of quality shocks. One thing at a time.
Sorry for some of the pictures being kinda blurry, or wierd color. I was experimenting with a magnifier lense on my camera and had to cover the flash for a few so the picture wasn't totally washed out. They aren't great, but they convey what I'm working on.

Holy aluminum! lol
I did that just one time to a car, but it made me not want to drive the car so I don't make it ugly.
Since then I don't full out aluminize any car lol, looks sweet though!

I just ordered new, quality shocks, so those junk silver ones are going in the trash very soon.
The ones I got are G-Made XD 55mm diaphram type.
http://www.gmade.net/bbs/zboard.php?...desc=asc&no=27
As for weight, I don't have a precise scale, but my pretty good scale shows the car as about 4.5 pounds the way its setup now.

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others
Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted any pictures from the drag races. Friday I had a bad day with my cars. Saturday I didn't go but did some tunning. Today Sunday had some great passes with my cars. A few months ago my RS4-3 was running 2.4 at 54 mph. Now I have added a new custom tunned pipe, ported my engine boca bearings and geared it down and ran 2.1 at 56mph. That is a big improvement but I think I can run a better time. The track was too sticky that I had hard times launching, I was stuck to the road. My cars front end will lift up at the take off and when I would drive back on the track at 10mph and hit the throttle the front would lift up too.
It was running faster than some of the dragsters. I was offered $1500 for my car and I turned it down. The man has my number and said he will call me to make me another offer. I think my car is sitting on $1300 but its not about the money, it's the time, dedication, tunning, adjusting and perfection that has been done to this car.
I might take $1800 if he offers it, I know this car would not sell no more than $300-400 on eBay. He said he has money I told him I would build him a better one if he pays for parts and car. The only other rs4 out there that could maybe beat me would be one like mines but with a .21 Navarrossi motor.
What would you guys do?

rx7: The g-made shocks were 28 dollars for two, so a bit more expensive than the tamiya flourine shocks. Hope they are worth it.
car-tune: Interesting choice you have. If you sell him yours could you use the money to 100% replace it and make some profit?
If the car has sentimental value to you, for whatever reason, then I probably would not sell it.
Comparing a small block RS4 to a over engined big block one, to me, isn't a fair comparison. The big block ones are so overpowered, they have so many problem with control, gear life, tire life, etc. If the big blocks beat yours, I would ignore it. If guys want to run a .21 engine, maybe they should just get a 1/8 car.

I've had my car since '05. Same car but a lot of upgrading. I purchased it with some of the insurance money I got when my street race car was stolen. It's kept me busy in the garage for hours a day.
On the picture above if you guys have noticed I have moved the gas tank next to the throttle servo. I have a flat rechargeable battery pack that I have no clue where to place it. So what I may have to do is swap it out with my Savage's batt pack, it's in a pyramid shape so it might fit next to the spur gears.
On the mustang body that you guys have seen that I removed the rear bumper I have also cut out the front grill between the headlights. Will keep me cooler wile bashing.
The problem I'm running into is that I have to rewire all my servos and power switch. My receiver is now sitting in front of my motor under the carbon fiber sheet. I've been on it for hours and its looking better.

My car is sitting on $1400. But I have added up some receipts two years into the sport was over $5000 and that was just one car. I now have 3 cars and 7 years into the sport so I do wonder myself how much I have spent.
