Yeah ok.....just don't go in the ditch, or throw a track, or...forget it, something is always failing on your Tiger! Maybe you should go green.
I'm only playing with you.

The whole world is going green, so should you. A little green over the that primer will tone it down. And you are welcome, I am glad I could help!

Duane,
My Tiger I is a German tank, my Tiger II is a German Tank, my Panther G is a German tank, and my Panzer IV is a German tank, all were wonderfully engineered (both in real life, and the model world), but all were also over engineered and/or entirely too complicated. Half the German armored divisions either broke down or simply ran out of gas.........................Let's not forget who won!!
Besides if I don't end up in the ditch or throw a track at least once a battle day, I just don't feel like I'm trying hard enough. They call it tank warfare for a reason! Tanks on the field Saturday let the mayhem begin!

PS Nope ain't gonna do it.....................no way I'm goin green and you can't make me! (LOL)

Right on!
Got a little further with the fun stuff, but man Saturday is fast approaching!
Added the the new turret emblem, did a lot more weathering on the damaged zimmermit areas, and added some light surface rust areas to the rear deck screens.
The emblems were shot in white metal primer, and then a black wash added, and the outside band painted red. I like it, I'm just not sure how much yet. I put them on with double stick just in case they don't grow on me. But I'm sure they will look a lot better once I weather them.
Each of the damaged zim areas got some more detail. I brush painted several red brown colors letting them mix directly on the tank. I wanted to give the hull red color some variation without too much uniformity. Once that was dry I took a very light gray paint and outlined some of the damages areas and created others where the zim has been damaged but not taken all the way back down to metal. The gray represents the actual color of the zim paste without paint on it.
Finally I used several red browns, orange and some golden yellow to dry brush the rear deck screens to replicate the effect of light surface rust starting.

A few more pics.
A close detail shot on the damaged zim on the glacis plate, and here you can the rear deck screens dry brushed to show the beginning effects of rust.
I also worked on the exhaust a bit tonight. Using the tried and true method of layering acrylic paint, and then adding in baking soda to the paint, and applying it with a dabbing or stippling motion. It creates a very rough pitted surface that replicates rust well. Once it's dry dry brushing with lighter oranges and yellows bring out the pitted look. A wash of Payne's gray or black helps to tone it all down.

Rambeast,
Thanks for the kind words, I think it'll look okay when it's done. But I'm happy with the start thus far. Needs some more weathering (read dints, dents, scratches and chips)
The buttons worked out pretty well, if you can't find them IM offline I'd be willing to pick them up for you here in AZ and mail them to you. Can't say I want to start a business selling them, but definitely willing to help you out if I can.
