I'm getting some strange conflicting reports on this TIGER.

It may be a translation thing, or could be something else. Before I post anything more as far as how to order allow me to do a bit of leg work.

However here is what I have been told:

The Tiger is made from Aluminum that is the same scale as the armor thickness of the real Tiger.

The electronics and sound system are made bythe same people who make the tank. (This has me a bit interested.) (YELLOW FLAG)

(RED FLAG) It will be priced to be cheaper than the Tamiya Tiger.

I hope all the above is true, but I want to dig a bit deeper if possible. If what I have gathered above is indeed fact and not a misunderstanding in laguage then this is a really great deal.

Aero-mate also keeps this thread up to date at RCgroups..Anyway, I personally doubt this will end up less than a Tamiya..http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1204127

This particular tank has been posted on here before as a home made one off tank. it is strange too see it listed like this, and there is no possible way it could cost less than a Tamiya tiger.

No Problem'O!

Like I said, they keep the one at Hobbyking RCgroups pretty up to date as there seems to be a bit more interest or response there. If I'm not mistaken, they posted here too, but got very little response. So keep your eyes peeled on that link....I think any new info will surely be there.

Another thing, I can't really tell from all the available angles, but it doesn't appear to have the Tiger I's uniqueasymmetrical turret. That's a bummer if it's absent....may as well be an HL despite it being metal.

edit: My mistake, that was Taoj who posted this metal Tiger before, not Aero-mate oraffiliations.

I heard it is in fact going to be priced less then a Tamiya without electronics though, so not exactly comparing apples to apples. IF you decide to go with the Tamiya electronics it will cost you slightly more.

I wouldn't mind owning one if it's at a reasonable price....but I know that turret will urk me, so if it isn't fixed in the final production...it'll be a pass for me. After looking a bit more, the width of the mantlet is too short and it's even on both sides...so definitely no asymmetry going on there.

Greg, I may be wrong again, but I think your thinking of a member who was making one out of a microwave.

Wasn't this to be an RCCommand deal? Guess something changed if they're now asking interested buyers to contact Alex directly:

We are ready to take your order now.

No, Bill has nothing to do with this. He does have other things in the works were hoping will work out. It will be a very good thing for all of us if it does. But nope , this aint bill's. Like i said earlier, this tank was posted as an one off home built unit, with no report of a future production release by anyone. I guess some one saw it and decided to maybe throw some money at this guy and give it a go. Who knows. It is a nice peice but for that money i'm saving for an 1:8th scale.

Huh? That's quite interesting considering he was posting about details & pricing of Aero-Mate's Tiger on RCG. Perhaps it was just a late April Fool's prank?

Keep us updated please!"

This tank will be available a few different ways...static, Full Option kit and everything in between. An electronics package has been designed specific for this model. Pricing has not yet been finalized but hope to have that shortly. Also hope to have the production ready to go in about 30 days with ability to purchase shortly thereafter. Hope to begin shipping mid-June. Regardless, completion and ship date will be firm and publicized prior to taking orders.

Hi Joat, that is the plan, however, Aero-Mate is really paying close attention to how this initial project progresses before moving on to their next. They certainly have been working hard to ensure they capture as much detail/accuracy as they can and are striving to do their best and not just settle for something. I'm right there with you on wanting the late wheel set. It's simply awesome how they've designed the set for this early version - at least 16 individual parts (plus lug bolts) for each wheel.

Actually it is meant for production & has been all along from what I've heard on this side of the pond from the guys in Shenzhen. Again, it won't be for the faint of heart but towards these new "high-end" enthusiasts in China & not necessarily marketed to those of us in the west who are having to count our pennies. There are plenty of buyers here in the neighborhood who don't think anything of dropping a few thousand for a new toy like this.

Price is confirmed at $2100 plus S&H. That is for the basic tank & DOES NOT include drive train & electronics.

Looks like you need to start saving your lunch money, boys, if you want to own one of these.

Well that could very well be that Bill had plans to sell it in Asia. He has never made any mention of it to me, but He doesn't ell me everything. Seems i have a big mouth  LOL . Like you said, I don't know how much the market in the states would bare as far as something like this would go. I cant see the point honestly.I wiould rather see Bill get involved more with Tamiya and maybe one of the 1:8 and 1:6 scale builders.

ROFLMAO!!!! THAT'S A GOOD ONE!!!

No, I'm fairly certain the Aero-Mate pretty much have that one already covered with their Chinese website & through existing local hobby stores. ArkModel is doing the same thing here with their Hooben line so I doubt any outside laowai will be successful in selling anything hobby related here aside from Tamiya, Italeri & a few other exceptions, & they go through established distributors.
