or you can dress the ones in the kit up. I show how to do it on my build thread on RCSB. I also show how I made the radiator in the front.

Dgiatr,
Your welcome. Don't forget that although ESM is pretty scale for an ARF, it has it's problems. One of them is the position of the exhaust stacks. If you want to get more scale you will have to relocate the stacks forward. Not sure it is worth it. I opted not to but I just wanted to pass it on in case you want to get crazy

i did some final tests with the cowl on and engine running at top speed for a while. everything seems to work fine. i opened the cowl flaps a little for some exhaust hot air coming out. next is painting (but i havent chosen the paint scheme yet)!!! i also ordered exhaust stacks and a pair of cannons from fighter aces.

Dgiatr,

Looking fantastic there mate! looking forward to seeing it all painted up.

What prop is that you have mounted in the pic's?

I got another 4 flights in with the Dora today. A bit of crosswind, but this model handles it like a champ!

Thanks

dave

thanks Dave,
its a fiala 24x8 3blade and 3w 75cc turns it at about 6700 r.p.m. its a very effective prop. after engine breaking in i will replace it with a 25x8 or even 26x8 3 blade fiala. i will have a "scale" speed then but i really like big props and i prefer to have big props than flying fast and off scale sometimes. in all of my planes i use only fiala and i am very happy.

you can see flying my ESM BF 109 50CC with that prop and EME 60CC spinning at about 6300 r.p.m.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsZzb4_iDlU

Fiala props, interesting selections, especially when you need counter-rotating props

One more that looks interesting. Look at the 32I series, that was just introduced. Great for 1/5, and maybe 1/4 scale electric warbirds. Thinking RPM rating is too low for gas

its fiala Dave not Biela. Biela props are very scale but generally you need much power to turn a quite big prop.

Ah, thanks mate, I knew that there must of been something I missed! They look interesting, but the prop on your model looks like the blade are quite "fat" like the real Dora's blades? I didn't see that on their website.

vario prop do make larger gasser props, just not listed on the site. I know he does a 1/4 scale 190 prop and a 109 shaped prop as well. VERY nice, but around $500

thanks

Here is a series of propellers very popular among warbird fans in Germany;

Zoll means Pitch.

Stopped my builds and pulled maintenance on mine today Installed some new hardware and tighten up the cables. The plan was to fly this weekend but it looks like the weather is taking a turn for the worse with snow again.

Wow, I'd need me to mortgage my house to get a Seidel prop.

http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items...2012SCALE.html

I'm interested in this variable pitch prop from Troybuilt models. Anyone try it yet? The price seems reasonable if it actually works as advertised.
